Once Upon a Nightmare

❥Prologue:

Crap. Crap. Crap! Okay, so those might not have been my exact words, but dire situations call for stronger words. Well actually, I'm not quite sure dire was the word. I definitely screwed up hardcore. Again.

I stood off the the side of the makeshift volleyball court in the gym, gaping at the volleyball I accidentally turned into a big, fat bird. It's not completely my fault. I was tired of trying to hit it hard enough, I figured I could do a small spell to make it just kind of.. you know.. fly for me.

Half of the other girls were screaming at that point, and the coach's chin was practically to his knees. But hey, you can't completely blame me. North had distracted me mid-spell, trying to tell me about how she was being sentenced off to some boot camp type place for us monsters. Heck, at this rate I'll probably get shipped off with her.

Oh yeah, so about that monster comment. We aren't exactly monsters, but that's what most people just say. It's a lot less formal than saying Supernaturals. Plus, that's how most normals would treat us if they knew what we are, which is why I'm extremely screwed as far as this whole bird ball matter was going.

As a few of the kids screamed and ran from the bird that was kind of just floating mid air, North mouthed to me to make a run for it. So I did. I ran, and I knew she was running behind me. It's better to have the normals come up with an explanation of their own than for me to explain it. My aunt would be pulling me from school anyway. After running a few blocks, North and I arrived at my house. And that's when we saw it. The council car. This is the point where I knew everything in my life was about to become ten times more screwed up.

As soon as we stepped inside and walked into the kitchen, I was greeted with a glare from the head of the council himself. He cut right to the chase, no sweet talking it.

"Kendall, you have been sentenced to Clockwork Falls."
