"Rikko?" A voice called from behind me.
I whipped around in surprise, just to find Thea jogging up to me. "Oh... Hey there..."
"You seem to be in a great mood!" She retorted.
"Sure am." I rolled my eyes. "So, what do you need?"
"Well, you told me to talk to you later before, right?"
"Yeah. Well I don't feel like talking right now, alright?" I jumped up and brushed myself off. "If you really need to talk to me, I'd rather you text me. You know my number."
Thea snorted and waved at me. "See you later, then."
I waved back and walked out the door for recess.

After a few minutes of walking around the field, I found a spot by the parking lot to stay for the rest of recess.
Now... I hope I can be left alone...
I heard a short chime go off and checked to see what it was. It was my phone.
"Hey. It's Thea.
You told me to text you, so here it is. I just wanted to ask about that 'Bradey' person in your class.
Text back soon, FFL!"I sighed.
"When I say 'text me', I don't mean it legit."
I hit the enter key.
Not long after, my phone rang again.
"Kk, FFL!"
I shut off my phone, disgusted that she kept on calling me her "friend for life". Like really, I'd seriously rather Nash as a friend over her.
Just then, I saw a shadow turn the corner towards me. Nash followed behind the shadow.
Right when I thought I could be left alone... I put my head down on my knees.
"Hey. What ya doin'?" Nash came to sit beside me.
"Nothing. You?"
"I was looking for you."
I peered up at him. Not knowing what to say. "Well, you found me... I guess..."
"Yeah. I just thought I'd want to ask you about Bradey."
I tensed up.
Not you too...
"You like him, don't you?" Nash readjusted his position.
"Um... I-"
"It's okay," he cut me off, making me sigh in relief. "You don't need to answer. I was just curious. Anyways, what do you think of him?"
"Well," I closed my eyes. "He's nice, he's good-looking, but!" I quickly added, just to ensure he wouldn't misunderstand me. "I never said I liked him. He's just, you know, better looking than most boys..." I peaked up at Nash, hoping he wouldn't think he was in that "most" group.
He chuckled. "Don't worry, Rikky. I get that. Ever since you met me, you were worried that people would misunderstand you. Don't worry abo-"
Right then, Nash looked up to find Bradey leaning against the wall, cross-armed and smiling.
A blush ran across my face. "S-since w-when did you g-get th-th-there?" I stammered.
"Not long. Just long enough to hear what you thought of me." He came to squat between me and Nash.
"Eavesdropper..." Nash mumbled.
"Don't think I didn't hear that." Bradey gave him a stern look.
Nash put his hands up in surrender. "Just telling the truth here."
Bradey looked back towards me. "Rikko, I wanted to ask you something. About your old school..." He leaned forward. "Is it..."
My whole body started to sweat in fear. It felt like a bee's hive just exploded and all the bees were trying to escape. "I... I gotta go. The bell's gonna ring soon." I sprung up and launched myself around the corner, heading for the door.
I ran my heart out.
If he knows about my past, I thought, then I'm not gonna be able to live with myself!
I held my breath and shook my head as hard as I could.
If he knows... there would only be two choices, to face my fate, or to have no future...
At that moment, I felt myself drop to the ground. The last I heard was Bradey. He was calling my name.
---------------------------------------------------------
I saw a sign on a brick wall. It read "Mist Center Elementary". It seemed like a pretty ware-down school.
Suddenly, a girl wearing a T, short shorts, high tops, and sunglasses walked up to me. She had hazel eyes and her skin seemed like it hadn't been in sunlight for days.
"Had enough?" That was one of the few words I heard from her. Then she walked away, snapping her fingers and calling for a group of girls to follow behind her. "Let's go girls!"
