"I have a place we can keep her," Anthony says. "Somewhere with decent security. Though I have been wanting to create a prison that's a little more secure."

Siryn cuts him off. "Great. Let's take her there." Anthony doesn't look disappointed that she interrupted his speech on his future scientific endeavors. But if she were a good girlfriend, she would have listened to him ramble about it. I would have listened to him ramble about it.

But I'm not a psychotic mind-control freak.

Anthony blindfolds me and ties my hands behind my back before taking me to his secure location. We take a car this time. I suppose it would be hard for him to fly with both of us. And it would probably mess up Siryn's hair. What a tragedy that would be.

If I ever get my hands on her, I'm going to shave all her hair off. Including her eyebrows.

Anthony throws me to the ground when we reach the prison. He doesn't bother taking the blindfold off or anything. My body is healing a little faster now. I think if I wanted to I could sneak out of the ties on my hands. Pretty easy really if I can just shrink my hands down enough.

But I hesitate. Even if I could get out right now I'd have to take on Mantis. No. It's definitely better to wait until he's gone. Then I'll get out of these ties and maybe figure out a way to get out of this prison.

Granted, it's hard to plan that sort of escape when you can't even see what type of security you're up against.

I wait for Anthony to leave, but I don't hear his footsteps walking away.

"What is it?" I hear Siryn ask.

"She knows where Lorna is," Anthony says.

"So? We know where she is too."

"No," Anthony says. "She doesn't seem at all concerned about the fact that we sent Loa and Derek after her."

"She's confident in Lorna's abilities," Siryn says. "Overly confident."

Anthony pauses for a minute. "I don't think so. She's calm under pressure. But not that calm."

Siryn gives a little disapproving huff. Maybe she's annoyed that Anthony knows my personality that well. Even if this whole thing boils down to her using her mind powers to control him, I think she is genuinely attracted to Anthony. I think even enough that she would be jealous of me.

Anthony's phone buzzes and he picks it up. It's hard for me to make out the bulk of his conversation, but I hear him telling the person on the other end to head back to base.

"That was Derek," Anthony says. "They weren't able to find Lorna on the metro. They looked everywhere for her. I told you, she tricked us. She left her phone there and she's headed somewhere else. That's why Thalia didn't seem concerned."

I hear him turn toward me. "You know where she is. You two talked about a meet up place just before she dropped you."

I don't say anything. Right now I'm just happy that they were able to give Derek and Loa the slip. Now that they're off the grid, I think they can stay safe. Lorna's clever enough to stay a couple steps ahead of her brother.

Siryn sighs. "That's annoying. Well I guess we'll just have to get the truth out of this one."

"How?"

"I'm going to leave that up to you. I have better things to do with my time," Siryn says.

"It won't be easy," Mantis says. "She's fiercely loyal to Lorna. And she's used to pain."
