Leo
Never had I failed a task before. The Guardians always gave missions that I would complete. I always would with little or no obstacles. Now I'm weary. I must maintain composure.
I have never in my many years been rejected. But he of course is not the typical human and my task is more difficult than any I had completed before. I must act. And soon.
I now am "invisible", as I walk leisurely around Ian's cramped apartment. The rooms weren't spacious, nor were they exceedingly mesmerizing in any way, but the living quarters captured a simple, easygoing feeling of home. I cross my arms and lean on the living room wall. There's a consistent gnawing in my head, it pangs with need. I've never yearned. It was they, the host that needed. I recall the way he looked at me, so similar to the other hosts a familiar mixture of awe and fear. But his stare mated with some unnamable emotion that I just can't place my finger on.
I couldn't stand my feelings. For hundreds of years I've never felt attached. So starved. The past events race through my mind, he's perfect. His reactions, thoughts, his body. Everything about him exuded perfection. I want him, no I need him. I yearn for nothing more than to brand him as my own, make him quiver with passion, wed him, and bring him to the kingdom... But that of course is impossible for a demon like myself. Doing so would be the very definition of danger. It would go against the laws. Laws created to protect our kind.
I glance around the room and hear a familiar roar of energy that immediately commands my attention. Matter shifts and Sayid enters from an unseen pathway. He walks towards me with a smile and opens his mouth to speak.
"Leo tell me your thoughts. Why do you frown so? Could the task be too imposing for you dear prince?"
Sayid chided, a foolish grin dancing along his mouth.
"Do not speak with the tongue of fools, I have no qualms with the task at hand. Many thanks of your concern dear friend." I replied, delivering my cockiest expression.
I admired his robe, rich fabric draped with marvelous, brilliant hues of red and gold his muscles were clearly defined underneath them. Sayid's strapping arms were crossed haughtily, the crest of the Lavatici branded on his hands displaying his status to all who saw. His handsome face wore a light coat of neatly groomed facial hair, deep auburn in color. Sayid's eyes were the same vibrant fire as my own. They seemed to gleam with playful amusement.
"Well state your business."
"I'm but a messenger on Desavi's behalf." He said with a smile.
"Go on then"
"He speaks with warning, do not distract yourself, he says"
"That is all?" I ask.
"Yes, that is all he spake."
"Tell him he needn't worry."
"I shall. Do not get tied up with the boy Leo. I know you fancy mortals of the male sort." He says with a throaty chuckle. "If you ask me I prefer women of the small breasted variety, nice and round... perfect for-"
"Hush now Sayid! I haven't the time for vulgar chitchat. I feel my face burn with embarrassment.
He laughed silently and vanished.
Ian
I've decided that I deserve a break from demons, altered realities, and waltzing in and out of consciousness.
I wait for Tetsu to finish his shower, he always knows when there's a party, I pray there's one tonight. Hopefully a balance of booze and house music will improve my condition.
