“As long as you lalalalalalala love me!” Rolling over and screaming into my pillow in annoyance, I’m woken up far too early from what sounds like a dying cat coming from Crystal’s room across the hall. The sad part is that it’s actually just Crystal’s attempts at singing. Unfortunately this is usually an everyday occurrence for me since Crystal insists on starting her day at 5 o’clock in the morning to put on her face full of makeup and hour long straightened hair. It’s a wonder her hair hasn’t fallen out yet. Her morning ritual also includes her waking me up with her daily screeching to whatever is on the top 40 at the moment.

Sighing, I roll out of bed and start to get ready for school. I throw on a pair of ripped skinny jeans, a cream off the shoulder sweater and my lucky maroon docs, which I can’t go anywhere without. I braided my unruly hair to the side and snatched my bag and my dad’s old acoustic guitar and walked to the stairs. By the time I walked down the stairs, Crystal was sitting in a barstool sipping her Caramel Macchiato probably made by Jacques our live in home chef. I walked to the fridge and grabbed a bottle of water.

“Hey loser,” Crystal said while smirking still sipping on her princess coffee.

“Morning Crystal,” I mumbled back used to her morning antics.

“So I can’t give you a ride today... Sorry I have to pick up Chad” she says giggling. Ah Chad, who I assume is her new flavor of the week. I think she goes through boys like a person with a cold goes through tissues.

Rolling my eyes I look at her, “Crystal you never give me a ride anyways.”

“Ha” she smirks, “I guess I forgot, oh well since it’s not a bother then I’ll be off. Bye bitch,” she says walking off. A few seconds later I hear the door slam.

Honestly, I think I would rather walk to school considering I wouldn’t have to hear Crystal go on and on about her boy problems or why Becky wore the same earrings as her. Pulling myself out of my thoughts I walk towards the door and notice Trevor sitting on the couch watching SpongeBob. “Trevor I’m leaving,” I say trying to get his attention. “Yeah ok bye,” he says not taking his eyes of the TV screen. I walk out the door and see Mary pulling up to the house. Mary is Trevor’s nanny, since Julia and Mark don’t have enough time to take care of him they hired her to take him and pick him up from school and make sure he’s fed. Mark is a big time defense lawyer, while Julia designs clothes for a living.

“Hey Delilah, how are you dear?” she says smiling at me.

“I’m alright Mary, same as usual.” I gave her a meek smile adjusting the strap on my guitar case.

“Ah do you have a performance today?” she eyes my guitar giving me a knowing smile. She’s one of the only people who supports my dream of singing and wants me to get out of this crappy town. “Yup! It’s Friday!” Every Friday I perform at The Coffee Bean. We do open mic night to rake in more customers, Ryan feels like it helps us give the place a homier feel. “Well good luck! I know you’ll do great!” she gives me a thumbs up and walks in the house.

Continuing my everyday walk towards school, I pull out my phone to see I have a few new texts. My guess is it’s either from Charlie, or Lydia. The only two people I actually like from school.
