"EMILY GET UP!" My annoying mother screamed at me. I looked over to my alarm clock to see it was already 12pm "ugh" I groaned as I slowly pulled myself out of bed. Today was Sunday and I was meeting my best friend Gemma at the park so I threw on clothes brushed my messy brown hair went downstairs had breakfast/lunch whatever and headed outside to the garage. My amazing bike that I'd gotten as a present from my grandma was laying there waiting for me it was black and purple, my favourite colours and super fast which I proved as I sped down the street. The park was only a couple blocks down and got there in about 10minutes and I saw Gemma waving at me. She's 15 about 5,5 with long red hair, green eyes and covered in freckles. "Hiya Em!" She cheerfully said as she walk down to meet me, she is a super energetic girl and is always happy and preppy. You cannot break her. "Hey Gem, how's it going?" "Pretty well my mom got me this new pair of amazing flats from American eagle and now I'm outside haha, what about you? Is your mother still super annoying?" "Omg yess she won't leave me alone always nagging and breathing down my neck I swear she'd be happier if I wasn't there, but anyway we're not here to talk about her we're here to have fun!" Gemma looked at me with concern in her eyes which quickly left as she said "ok race ya!"
I had fun that day we played all afternoon and by the time we were ready to head back it was 10pm I knew my mom would disapprove me walking home in the dark in Manhattan but I had my bike and was ready. "You sure you don't want to ride the taxi with me?" She asked she was always so protective. "Nah, I'm good we live in completely different directions I'd just take longer, anyway see you at school."
"Ok if you're sure. See ya at school."
I never really liked school but I had never known I'd never be going back there neither, it's funny how life can take such strange turns how I'm riding my back heading home ready for my mom to kill me coz I'm so late and instead a driver that fell asleep hits me head on. It hurt so much, the impact of such a heavy thing hitting me and then I was airborne still conscious and that had woken up the driver he ran out to help me but I was in so much pain it felt like every bone in my body was broken and I'd been dropped into a bowl of fire. I could here an ambulance coming and people stopping, cars halting but the noises all felt so distant like they were fading or maybe I was fading. I remember being picked up by paramedics making the pain worse as I kept blacking out and people around me saying it's gonna be ok until I closed my eyes and felt nothing at all.
