High School is the time when life is careless and mistakes are made. Not many people understand this but the truth is that I, Chris, made tough choices that changed who I have become. I spent far too little time thinking of myself and helping others, in the sense that sometimes I dig a hole for my own body. This is the story of when Bruno asked me to help him buy a shovel; the shovel that wacked me into reality.
Who is Bruno? Well for starters, Bruno was the athletic student at Lincoln Manroe, every girl wanted to be with him. Bruno was liked by mostly everyone; teachers and students alike. He was involved in school activities to the point that he needed to be at four places at the same time. He was the captain for the football, basketball, and every other sport. Voted Class President twice and won by a landslide, but they changed him both times because he had a "Busy" life. It seemed like every month he had a new lady friend that was always under his arm and later would be kissing at the front of the school so everyone would know who she was, as if marking his territory like a chihuahua would change the fact that later that month he will have someone different. Most of the time these were new girls who were transfers from other schools. By their second year, every girl knew the gossip or had heard a story of him. I hate to say this but I have to give him points for at least choosing the new girls.
High School wasn't all that bad, I know this might sound cliché, but there was only one person that would make my day, just with her charming smile; Victoria.
In the absence of Victoria, the sun seemed to weep a little when a cloud would hide the glimpse of her. Everyone know who she was. She is the type of person that you can talk to her about a subject and she will talk about it as if it was the first time she ever talked about it. Ever since I have known her, I have had feelings for her. I remember meeting her in the third grade, we both were sitting next to each other due to our last names, I had seen her in the halls before but never had a reason to talk to her. One day, I fell asleep during a lecture. I felt my chair shift a little and felt like I was falling to the ground that it shook me from my sleep. She had kicked my chair because I had snored. I woke up right before the teacher passed out the assignments for the day. After that a window opened. We were able to talk to each other until one day I heard her say that she wanted to move desk. She had asked to move to talk to what is now her best friend; Bell. After that we talked ever so often.
Bell and Victoria were so close that they appeared to have been sisters. Just like sisters, they shared a large amount of secrets. I can now say that I loved Victoria and Bell knew it. I was afraid Victoria would know this, and she would ignore me for the rest of my life. Victoria made everyone in that school seem incongruous and dreary. Her brown hair was radiant even when-according to her- it was a mess, her brown eyes would make the most gloomiest day the sunniest, her glasses made her mysterious at times , her smile that gave me the strength to do anything for her; she was and still is the most amazing girl I've come across. She has always been my height til high school when I got a bit of a growth spurt. In Middle School, I wrote poems, drew drawings, and practiced telling her that I had a crush on her, but none of it ever happened the way I planned.
High School, the years I regret at times, but will remember them the most because of her. Bruno was perfect for her, while I was just plain and dull. I didn't have a chance against him unless... One decision that could change everything...
