Blake dropped the man to the floor, releasing him from the tight embrace in which he had enslaved him. He looked down at the man in disgust. The man had tasted foul; he had reeked of alcohol and smoke, "pitiful" he spat looking down at the man. He wiped his mouth with the back of his hand in disgust. Leaning back against the wall of the alleyway he looked up to the sky. The moon was beautiful in all its elegance and glory. It brightened up the black blanket of almighty endless darkness that was the night sky. In all his years he still found the most calming of this was to look up at the moon, the goddess of the night. He sighed and walked out of the narrow ally. Leaving the man there on the floor, drained of blood. Dead.

He frowned slightly as he left the ally. He was still hungry; it seems he could never fully satisfy his hunger these days. Shoving his hands into his trouser pockets he began walking home. The only way he could ever really satisfy his hunger was if he found a pure blood. But those were nearly impossible to come by nowadays. Apart from children, however, he refused to feed from children. For a number of reasons, with children it was difficult to feed from, due to how small they were. Not only that but feeding could be intimate on occasions. As well as these reasons even nowadays children purebloods were still hard to come by. Due to the amount of parents that smoked they polluted their children with the poisonous air and therefore polluted the blood.

So it was nearly impossible to fully quench his endless thirst and need. The curse of the vampire, Blood lust. This was what caused the vampires need to feed. All vampires were ruled and controlled by this endless hunger. The older you got as a vampire the easier it became to control it. Blake was over 300 years old, he had stopped counting when he had gotten to 200 after that many years you start to lose count and to a vampire age is just a number. Humans used their age to pretty much see how many years they had left. However, a vampire could never die. Well, from natural causes anyway. The only real way to kill a vampire was to behead it. Of course there were other ways but this was the easiest way.

Because of his age, he had could control the blood lust for a fairly long period of time. He could survive without blood for about 4-6 days. Then after that he would have to feed on animals. But by the 9th or 11th day he would have to feed from a human. Many young vampires who had been turned and who weren't born as a vampire still held their human morals, of course vampires had rules and morals as well but they were different from the humans. And so they would choose to feed from blood banks set up for the vampires. However, most vampires didn't find this filling enough since the blood never tasted the same as it did straight from the humans.

He was nearly home by now. On the outskirts of town was where he lived, in the middle of the woods. Blake actually owned the forest himself. He had bought it years ago and built his home in the middle. It was perfect because no one knew of his home, since it wasn't registered anywhere. Weaving his way through the trees skilfully. Just by looking at him you could tell by the way he walked that he knew the path by heart. He never missed a beat, he was graceful and elegant in everything he did. Like most vampires, since their senses were heightened. Arriving at his house he walked inside. He never bothered to lock the door since he had no reason to fear anyone entering since no one knew about it. And anyway if a human did decide to walk into his home he would gladly welcome them. He chuckled at the thought and closed the door behind him.

Blake walked down the hall way of his large house, it was practically a mansion. The whole house was decorated with the finest furniture, everything was first class luxury. Well of course it would be. Blake, like all pure blooded vampires, was rich this was because he was born as a vampire and therefore he was considered royalty amongst them. Simply because he was a pure blood he was one of the strongest vampires alive. Pure blooded vampires, were rare nowadays probably just as rare as pure blooded humans. But because he was pure blood he was more powerful and so he was able to control the curse easier.
