Chapter nine
Re-united
I really didn't want to wake up now.
I still felt tired and really sore. Why was I sore again? Oh right. I felt a smile tug on my lips as I repeated the night. David's movement made the layers of sleep quickly unfold and I was sure that I was able to open my eyes-but I didn't want to.
I felt David's arm shift around my waist, and pull me higher on his chest. I felt his lips move on my head. He was saying something, but I couldn't hear it. I mumbled something back, not quite sure what I said. It was sort of a 'sh't 'p n' lemme sleeeeeeeep', something around that. My head began to move up and down in a quick rhythm. For a second, I thought there was an earthquake going on. The movement got faster, and I figured out that David was laughing at me. I grunted out loud to seize the jumping pillow.
Sleepiness has left me, and I finally tilted my head just a little to the side and slowly opened my eyes. Everything was blurry, and green, and pale. Now that I was more aware of my surrounding, I noticed the smell of trees and grass mixed with male cologne. I also could hear a little stream that was probably beside us, and birds singing. My head fully went up, my eyes wide open. We're still in the forest! My mind screamed. I felt a little tingle in my mind and a soft brush on my arms. I wasn't sure if David was actually touching my arm until I looked down.
David only went into my mind to help myself calm down. The forest went quiet around us.
"Shh, shh," I heard David from my right ear while I looked around us.
I was right; we were beside a little stream. I noticed David's clothes were on a rock, torn. I blushed knowing that I was a little bit crazy last night, and I did that. I remember a pair of claws appearing from my hand...
"David?" I called him, just to hear his voice.
"Yes, my love?"
I'm sure that I melted like an ice cube on a burner on him. My stomach twisted, not in a bad way but a good way. I smiled widely.
"Why are we still in the forest?" I looked down at him, and my heart jumped at him. His lips curved. We were both naked.
"Well if you remember clearly last night, you really didn't need to go in the house." He grinned and almost blinded me. His teeth, were they always that white? "We produced enough heat by ourselves." David brushed the back of his hand on my cheek. I grabbed his hand and held it tightly in mine. David smiled more, I could see his fangs.
"How are you feeling?" He asked me after a moment of silence. I was playing with the veins that popped out of his arms when he flexed them. I looked up and saw him frowning.
'What do you mean?' I spoke to him in my head, afraid my voice would crack.
"Well, last night, the wolf..." His eyebrows furrowed, and I felt my own face frown deeply.
"I've forgotten about that," I admitted, "That poor baby wolf. You knew him?"
"Yes, we knew the parents," He paused and wrinkled his nose for a second and then smiled. "Well, Agatha and I did."
"If Agatha did, I will too."
A slight wind rushed between David and me. I felt little pieces of my hair twirl around my face and shoulders. I felt goose bumps jump from under my skin. Though, before I moved my hands to rub my arms, David was already rubbing my arms. I'm sure he'll probably do a much better than me. I felt a stir in David's mind, another thought he was going to ask.
