Author's note.

First of all a huge thanks you for taking the time and reading this story. It truly means a lot because this story is something special and I've worked really hard on it, also wanting to keep my facts right and legit.

My story does contains use of swear words, reference to smoking and alcohol. I'm trying to make the story as realistic as possible so please do bear with it if you aren't comfortable.

The entire structure of the story is strong and framed but the chapters weave in with the details only when I sit down and start writing. And because of that, it does take time for me to finish the chapters because I want you to imagine out the entire setting as you read it and understand the details, and that takes a little time. So please do understand that.

Anyways, thank you once again. If you can, please do comment and tell me what you like and don't like so that I can improve on my story and writing.

Mmmm... Cinnamon rolls. Fresh out of the oven, ever so light and warm curls of bread with sugar and cinnamon dust hiding inside every curve, waiting to crumble and dissolve with just a touch from the tongue, wanting to spread that sweetness across the palate and cast anyone under its blissful spell. Its wonderful scent seemed to pierce through the delicate blue handcrafted box and hypnotize Raydon, beckoning him to open it and take one bite. That was all he wanted. Just a bite; to suppress that excitement for a little longer. But the lady walking beside him would be upset if he did so.

I know you love them Ray, but wait until we reach the park okay? Please?

Raydon could control himself, just because she requested him to. But then again, who was this lady? Why was she with him? How did he even meet her in the first place? It was all so sudden; she was there with him since the beginning. In fact, he didn't even know her name but the only thing he did know was that she was beautiful. Crimson hair fell in curls to her shoulders, and her striking blue eyes darted to each and every object they passed by, observing everything the streets had to offer. Probably a couple of inches shorter than him in a yellow sundress and knee-length boots with a black scarf around her neck. He was glad she was with him as they walked hand in hand to the park.

All of a sudden, the ground below started to rumble and shake as the sky darkened. After a few seconds, strokes of lightning bolted cracks grazed the cemented roads, the buildings all around started to crumble and fall, spitting plumes of dust and raining gravel on them. The lady clutched on to Raydon, shivering and crying as he quickly wrapped his arms around her. It's going to be alright, he whispered into her ear.

A loud ringing noise tore through the horizon and almost ripped his eardrums. It kept beeping and with every pause, a chunk from a random building fell from the sky, crashing near them. The sound grew louder and louder until...

You sleep again Raydon and I swear I'll cut your head off and leave your corpse in a desert for vultures to feast!

His pine green eyes shot open and he quickly straightened his attire, and used the back of his hand to wipe away the drool from the corner of his mouth. With the most pleading eyes he could pull off, he twisted around to look at his boss, Samantha, who was standing behind him, her hands folded across her broad chest, nostrils flared and he knew she would erupt any second, with steam rocketing out of her ears and curses pouring from her mouth like Eminem's rap.
