Into the Woods

"You ready to chicken out yet?" Thalia Skywalker taunted, grinning at Hannah Basso, her best friend. "Not on your life." Hannah retorted. The girls were standing on the edge of the Dark Woods, which was a dark forest on the edge of their town. The dark trees were scary enough on their own, but there were stories about the place. Urban legends and friend of a friend stories about werewolves and other creatures lurking among the trunks were common in the town. Nevertheless, Hannah and Thalia decided to brave it. "Ready?" Hannah asked. "Ready." Thalia said. They switched on their flashlights and walked into the Woods. After about twenty minutes of walking, there was the sound of a branch breaking somewhere behind them. "Hannah, what was that?" Thalia asked, sounding terrified. "I don't know." Hannah said, sounding equally scared. "But we should get out of here." that was easier said than done, as the girls had not marked their way at all. Little did they know that two large wolves were prowling behind them. At just the right moment, both wolves leaped from the shadows onto the girls. There were two cracking noises as Thalia and Hannah's heads hit tree trunks. The girls collapsed, and the werewolves surveyed their catches. Satisfied, they each grabbed one of the girls' ankles in their mouths, and dragged them deeper into the forest.
