Emilia's POV

As I neared the table where the guys usually hang out, I can't help but smile. They were all laughing as if there's no tomorrow. Not long ago, I only used to watch them from a far, sitting in a lone tree by myself, eating sugar bun or none at all. But now, I'm friends with them and my life changed.

They were not like the other students in this school. They were not stuck up and brats like most of the students here even if they came from one of the riches families in the city.

Never in my life that did I imagine myself studying here. Even when my father didn't leave me, it's not practical for me to study here and when he left, my chances of studying were gone the moment that my mom became an addict and alcoholic.

And then there was Maddy. Truth be told, I never wanted her at first and thought of abortion or giving her up and good thing that I didn't. She was probably the best thing that resulted from a misfortunate event.

"Hey guys." The gang stopped laughing and greeted me back. They were so focused on their conversation that they were not able to notice me. "What's got you all laughing?"

"Hey babe." A small blush crept into my cheeks as Nick stood up and kissed my temple. Tony moved from his sit to give me the space between Nick and him. "Nothing much, just relieving old stuff. On how we pull pranks to our sitters when we were kids and other dumb thing."

"Sounds fun." I smiled back. Nick has told me some of the stuff Jane and her pulled that made their parents blood pressure to rise and be grounded.

"And embarrassing!" Jane added. The gang laughed again. I did too and suddenly, I have forgotten about my encounter with Lucas.

They continued to share stories until the bell rang indicating the end of life lunch.

Nicole's POV

"I hate practice." I sighed as I changed into our practice uniforms.

"I know. You are a natural but basketball's a team sport and we are depending on you." Jane replied. She had already finished putting her jerseys and was already tying here shoes. "What if the opponent triple team you? Then you  wont be able to make a good pass because you don't know where we are."

"I know. It's just..." I paused because my reasoning was completely stupid. "Em does not have any council duties today so I want to have as much alone time as possible with her." I released a huge breathe as I continued to tie my shoes. Lately, all I ever though about was Emilia and Maddy. Our little family.

"Oh my goodness! You've turned into a mush!" Jane laughed earning herself a small punch in the arm. A small smile graze my lips as I though about it. A month ago, I would have not imagine myself in this scenario. I'm an easy going, live by everyday type of person. But now, I have better things to do and people were depending on me now. I know it's going to be hard but it's all worth it. "Come on! Let's go before you turned into a jell-o!"

Tin's POV

I usually watch Jane during her basketball practice but today I decided to skip and just 'study' at the library. I really just want to get home and rest but Jane was my ride. It's not like I was avoiding her, it's just... I needed to think for a while.

"I could hear your mind screaming from the entrance." I was startled from the voice. Looking up, it was James. "What are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be at gym?"
