Chapter Two

"Now welcoming to the stage -- Peyton Matthews!"  I walked on the stage, heading towards the center.  My hands were sweaty, and my knees weak.  Come on, Pey.  Get a grip, you've done this a million times before.

The music started, and I began dancing.  I already knew that my dancing wasn't too good.  My moves were jerky, and I was having a tough time remembering what came next.

"Woo!  Let's go, Peyton!  You've got this!"  I heard Miss Grace yell from backstage.  I kept dancing, not doing any better than before.  Suddenly the audience became my whole school.  Everyone was watching me with disbelief in their eyes.

Oh God.  I started to really panic now, and I stopped dancing.

"Hey, the bad girl does ballet!"  A voice yelled from the crowd, and tears surfaced in my eyes.  Don't cry, don't cry.  The crowd erupted into laughter.

     BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP.

I shot up straight, my breathing heavy.  It was just a dream.  I tried to shake off the feeling of embarrassment, and got out of bed.

I walked towards the bathroom, turning on the faucet in the shower.  After taking a shower, I blow dried my hair.  While brushing my teeth, Daniel came into my room.

"Hey, Buddy.  What are you doing?"  I asked him, then spit the toothpaste in the sink.  I turned around, waiting for a reply.

"Mommy wanted to know if you could take me to school, today."  He said, give me a quirky little smile.   I nodded my head, and told him I'd ask Noah.

When Noah and I started driving, my parents got us one car to share.  But since Noah's Noah, he drives.  He claims it wouldn't look manly if his younger sister drove him everywhere.

I knocked on Noah's door, and her a muffled response.  Opening it, I came inside the room.  Trevor was seated on his bed, tossing a basketball up and down, and Noah was looking for a shirt to wear in his closet.

"Ma wants us to take Daniel to school."  I stated, crossing my arms.

"Sure.  Be ready in ten, and we'll leave."  He replied, and I left the room.  Going back into mine, I told Daniel sure and to get his stuff ready.

Walking to my closet, I thought about what I was going to wear today.  Shifting through all the shirts in my closet, I finally decided on my Sleeping With Sirens shirt I had gotten from one of their concerts.  Pulling on a pair of faded jeans, I put on the shirt.  I tucked the shirt in, and rolled up the sleeves before slipping into my grey Vans.

I picked up my backpack from the ground, and walked downstairs.  Everyone was seated at the kitchen table, waiting for me.  We all walked out to the car, and piled in.

"Dude, did you hear that Leslie's having a party this weekend?  It's on Saturday."  Trevor announced.

Leslie was the school's whore.  Her parents were ridiculously rich, so she got everything she wanted.  She was your typical It Girl.  Fake boobs, face caked in makeup, designer clothes, and a bitchy attitude to match.  I'll admit, I have quite the attitude, but I'm nice to people unless they give me a reason not to be.

"Seriously?  Dude, we gotta go!  Pey, you gonna come?"  Noah asked me.

I scoffed.  "As if.  As much as I'd love to,"  My voice dripping in sarcasm, I continued.  "I can't.  Kristy got us tickets to Pierce the Veil's concert on Saturday."
