Wow, the new girl is so beautiful! When she began talking to me in class, I literally stopped breathing for a couple of seconds because I was shocked that someone as gorgeous as her would want to talk to me. Personally, I feel a little bad because I wasn't really holding much of a conversation with her. But, the only reason I wasn't was because I was extremely friggin' nervous. Maybe things will get better once she sits with my friend and I at lunch today...

"Okay then. Well, I guess I'll see you at lunch. Later," Odessa said as she walked out the classroom. As I stood by the classroom door, I felt someone tap my shoulder.

"Hey, dude. What's going on?" Colby, my best friend of five years, said as he stood next to me. His dark brown hair covered his eyes as he gave me a friendly smile.

"Nothing really, waiting for my teacher to come over so I can talk to her," I said.

"Well, she looks a little busy to me. You might want to talk to her later. Come on, let's go to the snack machine and get a Cola," Colby said.

"Yeah, you're right. I'll just talk to the teacher tomorrow. Lets go," I said as I simply shrugged and walked with Colby.

"So, did you hear that Sarah Carlson got detention in second block?" Colby asked me as I stared at the cafeteria entrance, waiting for Odessa to arrive.

"Yeah, I heard she told the teacher to go die in a hole and then threatened to beat him down with a textbook," I said as I took a bite out of my peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

"Yeah, it was hilarious," Colby laughed as he took a sip of his Cola.

As soon as I was about to respond to Colby's previous comment, I saw Odessa walk in the lunchroom. A smile plastered across my face as I was about to call her over to our table. Before I could say anything, I noticed that she wasn't alone. On each side of her was two of the biggest whores in our school, Holly and Kendall. As I sat there wondering why Odessa would even be having a conversation with girls like them, they all walked to one of the lunch tables near a window and sat down with a bunch of other preppy girls.

"Sam....Sam, are you okay? You seem a little zoned out," Colby said as he waved his hand in front of my face.

"Yeah, I'm -I'm fine," I sighed, feeling a little disappointed that Odessa ditched me for some bootleg Barbie wannabes.

Well, I guess it was my fault for thinking that a girl like her would actually want to hang out with me... It really sucks being let down, you know?

"Sam, I've known you for five years and I'm sure I know when something is wrong. Tell me what's bothering you," Colby said.

"Okay, well, did you hear about the new girl, Odessa?" I asked.

"Oh, yeah. I overheard a group of jocks in my chemistry class talking about a new chick. What about her though?" Colby asked.

"Well, she sits next to me in class and I suggested that she should come sit with us. She told me that she would, but instead, she's over there with the preps and she totally forgot that I even exist," I said.
