Chapter 3: The Way I Think

(The Next Day at School.)

"I think Brandon is really cute."I said to Caroline.

"He's weird and not cute, I'll tell you who's cute, Garrett" Caroline said.

"No he's not!" I protest, the bell rings.

"Time to go home" Ms.Vonpoul says

"See you tomorrow "I said to Caroline

 "See you tomorrow." Caroline said back.

 as soon as I got home I heard Carla tell that stupid big foot story to Joseph, I still don't care. As I got out my homework I heard Carla telling that stupid story again, I've had enough, I'm gonna go stop that now before it gets serious!

"Carla!" I scream "Stop!"

"Vanessa!" Mom said

"Mommy, I was telling her to do her homework, but she wouldn't listen." Carla says with big puppy dog eyes.

"Grrr!" I snarl at Carla.

"Vanessa, homework now!" Mom says.

"But..." I protest

"Now Vanessa!" She yells.

"Fine." I say. after I finish my homework I do some spying on Carla,as I press my ear against her door I hear her talking on the phone with her friend about how she likes a boy in her class, his name is Jackson and he apparently likes her, I listen more and hear that she says Jackson saw a big foot print in the woods.

"There's no way." I whisper to myself, I hear footsteps coming from Carla's room, I run into my room as she opens the door to her room, she looks around and closes the door again, I sneak back over to the door and press my ear against it again, I keep hearing about this "Jackson" and how bigfoot was here... and real! I couldn't believe what she was saying, bigfoot is so-o-o-o fake! I mean, seriously, she needs to figure out her imagination is over active, and deal with it, just then Carla opens the door and her jaw drops!

"Vanessa, how much did you hear?" She yells.

"Hear what, I just dropped my ring and went to pick it up, here it is." I say showing her a mood ring I had been wearing all day.

"Your mood ring says your lying!" Carla yells.

"Okay, I heard you say big foot was real and that's it." I half confess.

"Oh, so you didn't hear about Jackson, okay." She says.

"Who?" I sarcastically ask.

"No one." She smiles and heads back in her room, I head to my room  and start doing some research.

Breaking News, bigfoot sightings across the world... I read, I keep reading about how there have been sightings here, in North Carolina, and in my neighborhood! I'm completely freaking out like pacing around my room and everything, could this all be true, is my whole life a lie, is this going to be like the bloody jacket and haunt me forever?

"AHHH!" I scream out, my mom rushes up to my room.

"Honey, whats wrong!?" She asks me.

"J-Just a little stressed, that's all." I say.

"Well don't yell anymore, you scared me." She says as she exits my room.
