Get ready, you're going to be SHOCKED.
Just as I'm pulling up in the driveway to my house, I see my mom looking out of the window with a concerned face, but when she see's me, she opens the front door signaling me to come in. I step out of my car & smile at her, she puts her arm across my shoulder & leads me inside.
"Honey.. we need to talk." She says sitting down on the couch next to my dad.
"Yes?"
"I lost my job" My dad shrugs hanging his head low.
"You what?!" I say sitting upright.
I see both of their heads hanging low
"I'm going to bed" I say standing up, walking to my room.
The shock of it all is ridiculous. I want to do something. I dont know how though. With all the thoughts whirling in my head, I fall asleep. Than, the loud alarm of my phone snaps me back into reality. I shower get dressed in less than an hour, I walk out of the door & drive to Ingrid's.
Ingrid is just walking out of the door with Scarlet.
"Maddie, come on take a ride with us!" She exclaimed opening her limo's door.
I follow after her and take a seat next to Ingrid.
"Whats wrong, why are you so down?" Ingrid said patting my back.
I sighed and looked at her "My dad got fired from his job.."
"Waste no time! I'll call my dad, he'll give your dad a job for sure!" Ingrid took her phone out faster than I could protest.
"Daddy, You remember Maddie Elliot right?"
"Her dad lost his job! I was wondering if you had a job post for a company manager? You do? Really! OHEMMMGEE!" Ingrid looked at me "Whats his phone number?!" I gave her my dads phone number. "Really! You can do that? I love you daddy, bye!"
"Ingrid.. You didn't have to do that!" I said giving her an angry shake.
"Of course I did!"
We left Scarlet at school and dropped by the cafe to get something to eat. By the time we got to college, everybody stared at us. I dont know if it was yesterdays incident, or the prom hosting.
Oh well, that doesnt matter. The entire day went by a whirl, I couldn't stop thinking how much Ingrid does for me. Getting home, I walked through the door, I noticed that my mom & dad where chattering excitedly.
When they noticed me, they sat me down.
"First, I don't know how to thank Mr. Brooke, he's a miracle. I started working today, & by the way Maddie, we're moving to Pinewood Cresent tomorrow." They both wrap their arms around me. I can't help but screaming & crying in delight.
My dad see's my tears of joy and pulls my chin up so I can look at him.
"Now go to bed, you've got a very long day tomorrow."
I walk to my bedroom & undress, than I pull the thin sheets over my head, in less than a few minutes. What seems like an eternity to wake up, finally happens. I wake up an hour early, and see the movers taking out everything of my room. I stand and dress quickly than dampen my hair a little, I walk out the door and begin to think.
This is something I've always dreamed of, but never had the audicity to challenge myself to it. First being popular, now filthy rich. I'm not sure if my dream could get any better.
I notice new cars in the driveway; My jaw seems to drop to the floor.
"The pink car is yours." My dad says handing me the car keys.
I'm completely speechless. Somehow, I surprise myself when I manage to speak.
"T-thanks..?" I say opening the car and giving a stupid smile.
I just turn on the engine & follow to our "New House" in Pinewood Cresent. I'm shocked when I figure out that I'm going to be Neighbors with Ingrid & Harvey. If this day is going to be any better I'm going to need a drink. I guess I was right that they are throwing away all of the furniture because I just remember seeing brand new furniture being pulled into the driveway right up to when I fainted.
When I come back around, I am swimming back into semi-consiousness, I notice three wobbly figures that keep spinning around the room, I just make out what I think is Ingrid voice.
"Maddie-Moo! Are you okay!?"
I open my eyes fully and give a faint smile, I haven't heard her call me that in a long time.
"I'm fine.." I say pushing hair out of my face with my hand
I grip onto Ingrid's hand as whisper softly
"Help me up."
I said before falling back into sleep.
When I re-surface, I find that the room is no longer spinning & I find that I am in Harvey's bedroom, he sits next to me, anxiously waiting, his face softens and he sits me up and hands me a cup of water that I gulp down.
"Hey." I said giving him a long kiss.
"Baby, your house is ready, you blacked out for the whole day though." He says pointing to the window. "Its already eleven."
I stand up and he follows me to my new house. He leads me to the front door where my mom awaits for me, she smiles and signals me to come inside. All new furniture is around, maids swarming to please us. My mum leads me up to my bedroom, a soft green colour with pixie-like furniture.
"I love it!" I say giving her a reasuring smile.
"Well good night love." She gives me a kiss and I lay down.
