Y/N POV:

"Beep, beep, beep, beep!" I woke up to the annoying sound of my alarm waking me up for my day at the fair with my best friend Hunter.

I grabbed my phone and checked all my social medias. I then got a text from Hunter:

I read his message and smiled. I've liked Hunter for a while, but never mentioned it to him cause I would for sure freak out.

I got up from my bed and checked my clock. It read 11 so I decided I would take a shower first, then let my hair air dry while I eat breakfast.

Once I took my shower and changed into my clothes for the day *your choice from above*, I went downstairs and met my mom in the kitchen. I walked in and saw she had made waffles with butter, syrup, strawberries, and whipped cream...my favorite!
"Thank you so much, mom!" I said, very great full for the yummy breakfast. Once I finished eating, I went back upstairs and flopped on my bed, going through my phone. After around 30 minutes, I had gotten a text from Hunter saying he was on his way. I replied back and went downstairs to wait by the door. Once his car pulled up, I stood up from the couch, said goodbye to my mom and dad, then headed out to his car.

Once me and Hunter arrived at the fair, we went inside to buy our tickets. I did end up bringing money because I was not going to let Hunter pay for me. We went up to the ticket box and asked for the 1:30 offer. The lady at the booth gave us the cards and said the price. 25 dollars together. Hunter reached in his pocket and took out money and handed it to the lady before I could even unzip my wristlet. We thanked her and headed off.

"Hunter! Why'd you pay for me? I said I was going to!" I wined.

"Because it's what your supposed to do on a date, silly!" he replied.

"Oh, so this is a date now?" I smirked.

"Only if you want it to be, babe." Hunter said while giving me a cheesy smile.

I laughed and looked around for what to ride first. "Let's go on the twister!" I exclaimed to Hunter wanting to go on really bad. "Anything for you princess." He said, intertwining our hands.

After a couple hours of eating cotton candy, riding rides, and taking goofy pictures together, we decided to end the night by going on the Ferris wheel. We went to wait in line and soon were climbing into our gondola. We then started rotating, and if I'm being honest here, I'm not a huge fan of heights. So when we reached the top, I closed my eyes not wanting to look down. Hunter must have noticed because he grabbed my hand.
"It's okay, gorgeous. I'm here and I'll protect you." He said. I could feel myself blushing so I tilted my head down with my eyes still closed. After 5 seconds of me hiding my beet red face, I felt a warm hand under my chin. Hunter lifted my head up and I looked at him.

"Y/N? Can I tell you something?"
he asked.

"Yeah, anything." I replied.

"Ever since the 6th grade, when we became best friends, I've liked you. I've liked the way you smile, your laugh that can brighten up anyone's day, your beautiful eyes that shine so bright when I look at them, and just you Y/N. So," he said while scratching the back of his neck. "Will you give me the greatest honor of being my girlfriend?" he asked, a hopeful look in his eyes. I was speechless, I had mixed feelings in my stomach, but they all felt right. At this point I had tears brimming my eyes.

"Of course, Hunter! I would love to be your girlfriend!" I said with the biggest smile on my face. Hunter smiled the biggest smile and hugged me, making are gondola move. (for those of you that don't know what a gondola is, it's the seat where you sit on a Ferris wheel 😂) I hugged him tighter, scared we would fall. Hunter comforted me by rubbing small circles on my back. I looked up at him, only to find out he was already looking at me. I smiled at him and he started leaning in. I did the same and closed my eyes until I felt his soft lips meet mine. The kiss was short, but it had so much passion and love, I could feel the 4th of July going off in my stomach. Once we pulled away we were almost down to where we had to get off. So Hunter grabbed my hand and we waited for the man controlling the ride to get to us so he could open the door. Once it got to us, we thanked him and walked over to where they were going to be showing the fireworks.

After waiting a good half an hour, the fireworks finally began, and that feeling was the same one I had when Hunter and I kissed. Hunter wrapped his toned arm around my waist and I rested my head on his shoulder, enjoying each other's presence, we watched the fireworks for the rest of the night. It was the perfect ending to a perfect day.
