Chapter 5
My eyes shutter open, as the blinding light shines through window of the hospital room my limp body lies in. My thoughts are jumbled and I struggle to put the prices together on how I got here. I harshly rub my eyes to try and help me wake up a bit more but the repeatedly striking pain coming from what feels like a stitched up gash on my head. I roll my head from the side to face the wall directly across From my bed.
This is when I notice not only my leg hung up by a strap hanging from the roof but a heavy blue cast going from just below my knee's to the bottom of my foot, only just revealing my toes. A moan escapes my mouth as i wince at the pain, as I try to take the slack off of the strap holding my leg up. My moan must have been loud as I hear a body bounce off of a chair and footsteps speed to my bedside and Harry appears in my vision.
"H-Harry?" I question. I mean i knew it was him, but why was he here?
"It's alright Leah...your fine just a fractured leg and split head. It's ok, I'm here for you." He comforts me. And as much as I dislike Harry, his words do comfort me.
"Where's m-mm-mum?"I studder out.
"She is just gone to get a coffee, she shouldn't be long. Speak of the devil.." He says just as mum quietly slides through the door before realising I was awake and then she began to jog to my bedside, just beside Harry.
"Hey sweety. You passed out after you fell down the stairs. Thankgod for Harry, he carried you in and out of the car and he's stayed awake, sitting here for the past 8 hours you've been passed out." She informs me as Harry's face begins to blush.
I turn to Harry, "Thank-you Harry." The words taste like poison in my mouth. It takes a lot of motivation to stay here for me, just so I could say Thank you to him when I finally wake. The thought of him wanting to be there for me, is something that I had never really experienced before, besides my friendship with Sarah. It makes me feel not so alone and I like that.
"Anytime." Harry replies, waking me from my trance. Even though I hate to admit it, I think he is growing on me. I flash him a smile, that he very deserved.
"Mum when can I go home?" I ask turning to my mother.
"I'll go talk to the doctor now honey."
I nod sincerely, and she walks out of the room.
"I'm sorry I never got to talk to you before you stumbled down the stairs." Harry broke the silence.
"I'm sorry for being so rude to you." I pause for a moment to gather my thought before continuing. I'll be honest with you Harry, I really didn't like you, and my body language obviously just proved that. I think it was pretty obvious so you probably new and yet you still helped me when I fell. That was really nice of you, I didn't deserve that." I thank him, then tell him how I feel.
"Leah, honestly I thought I would never get to talk to you again after the concert, but as soon as Louis dragged me off stage at the concert I couldn't stop think about for the half an hour before the meet and greet, you drove me crazy." He lets out a little giggle. "However, I knew I had to see you again. I had to talk to you, see your smile. I know that probably sounds so creepy, but Leah you really are beautiful and even if this doesn't go anywhere, I had to tell you that." Harry compliments me.
My cheeks turn bright red and my mouth slides up into a smile. I was just about to reply when I see mum peaking around the frame of the door.
"Oh jeepers mum. You heard it all didn't you?"
"Ohh sweety, he is definitely a keeper." She tries to tell me like I didn't already know. I didn't know much about Harry besides what Sarah and all of the other screaming fans, paparazzi and people magazines say, but I think I had it all wrong, maybe he isn't so bad after all.
