You Turned Soft (Zanmau) [RE-DONE]

Prologue

Zane's POV

I stood at the top of a hill, looking out at the night sky.

Proposing to her the day after I confessed my feelings would be tough. 

"I didn't know you come out here to," a female voice said behind me. I put the box that had the ring inside of my pocket and turned around, Aphmau was walking up the steps of the hill.

"I only come out here when somethings on my mind," I said, helping her up the last step. She was wearing a beautiful purple dress, Cadenza must have made it. She smiled and walked over to the edge of the hill.

"I do the same," she responded late. I walked over to her, she was grabbing a tree while she was at the edge.

"I sometimes come out here...just to get away from my old self," I added. She turned her head, then her whole body. I looked down at my feet, I saw out of the corner of my eyes she was walking to me, she was barefoot.

"Zane..." she said to me, she walked even closer. I looked up, she tried to pull down the cloth that was covering my mouth. I took her hand, calmly, I looked at her in the eyes.

"Please don't..." I told her, she wished her hand away, she held it.

"I...I understand." She walked off to the tree. I cleared my throat and walked over to her. She sat on the roots of the tree, I sat next to her.

"Cadenza did a wonderful job on your dress," I finally told her. She looked at me, blushing.

"T...Thank you...Zane," she replied, she looked down at her feet. I looked away to the starry night sky.

"It's been a while since someone said thank you to me," I said. I turned to her, her mouth opened, she looked down and closed it, she wanted to say something. I turned back to the stars.

"Aphmau! Aphmau, where are you?!" a voice called. It suddenly got close, I heard Aphmau get up, I kept looking at the stars.

"Par...Pardon me Zane," she said, I didn't respond. The voice suddenly stopped when I heard foot steps get to the top of the hill. I turned my head, Katelyn. She hugged Aphmau.

"My Irene you had me worried," she said, hugging her.

"I was just up here with-" she was cut off when Katelyn looked up.

"Zane," she pushed off of her, I looked back at the stars.

"Katelyn, he did nothing wrong!" Aphmau yelled at her.

"That's what he want's you to think," she said. I got up and dusted off my clothes, I turned to Aphmau. I walked pass them, I stopped at the first step of the stair case.

"It was nice to talk with you, Aphmau," I said before I walked off.
