The late afternoon sun beat relentlessly upon the caps of the Clover Valley High School graduates. Rays of sunshine could be seen enriching their very pours with ecstasy!
Specifically Abby Vincent, she was the girl in high school everyone knew as “that one goth chick...” Today “that one goth chick” could have passed for a prep. Her luminous smile rivaled that of the sun. Her eyes sparkled with hope for the future. She imagined traveling the land, leaving this small town behind, and embracing the world around her. And she wouldn’t be alone; she dreamed of traveling along side the love of her life: Justice Gates.
Justice stood proudly among his fellow graduates with the same feeling of vitality and freedom. The world was now open to him. He was free. He dreamed of an adventurous life, a whimsical life, a life alongside Abby Vincent ,enduring whatever came their way.
Standing confidently beside him was his best friend Parker Henderson who was a deviant boy because of his sexuality. He got an erection showering in Gym, and wasn’t ashamed to admit it. Parker glowed as the most proud of the graduates. He had a glorious future planned out with Chandler Drake, his photographer boyfriend.
Chandler Drake viewed the world as one huge spectacle, something to be marveled. He captured every moment on film. Memories were priceless to him. He didn’t carry the same mentalities of the other students. Chandler rarely looked into his future. He lived his life one shot at a time. Time. Chandler was afraid of time. It felt like yesterday he was learning to tie his shoes, now he’s graduating; his mind was going crazy. At this very moment he was snapping a photograph so he could hold onto it forever.
Ivan Bolkshakov was a former Russian soldier. He dreamt of the future every night. It was a vivid and precise dream. He wanted to propose to his girlfriend, Ellie, and marry her. He wanted to have exactly three children and live in a house without green window shutters. He always pictured himself as a fascinating father. He wanted to be the provider of his future family.
Antonio Rodriguez was wearing a cheesy smile. He always found the bright side of every situation. No matter how bizarre it was. Throughout his high school career he was quite the athlete. Smothered in trivial athletic success, Antonio lacked a sense of true unwavering compassion. That was, until he fell in love with Amber, a witty girl who tolerated his nonsense. His future may be unsure , but Antonio doesn’t mind. He felt on top of the world at this moment, holding Amber’s hands as if she’d float away if he didn’t.
Amber had tears rolling down her face. Her smile was spread from ear to ear. She tingled with excitement. Today was an important milestone in her life, because she was told she’d never reach this moment. Amber never felt good enough. That was different today. She had made it. She made it to the first day of the rest of her life.
Ellie Storks smiled and held her hands behind her back. Manners were everything to her and she wanted the audience watching her to be appealed. She was told she “had pole stuck up her butt”, or told she was afraid to get “dirty”. However, she described herself as “civilized” and someone who honored the law. Ellie was the girlfriend of Ivan Bolkshakov, the Russian with the “Iron Fist” and the keeper of her heart.
The school principal stood at the podium .
“And now it is an honor to present to the small town of “Clover Valley”, this year’s graduating class!”
The entire class tossed their caps in the air. The caps flew so high they disappeared in the sun rays.
High school was a distant memory.
The future was now.
After the graduation ceremony, the group of friends met up at “Dandy Andys”. The restaurant served just about any kind of food. The group of friends sat at a long table. They were served by Kelly Tyson, someone who hated her job and wasn’t afraid to show it.
