Brieyon had decided it was time to start making her own money. Yes it was nice having a mother who spoiled her rotten, but she wanted to learn to become more independent. She was so used to getting everything she asked for. She wanted to challenge herself a bit.
She had finally found herself a good job working at a clothing store inside the mall. The pay was just enough for her to hang up clothes and greet folks all day. She was actually starting to like her new job.
Ever since she'd started working, She felt like G was trying to avoid her. She didn't like that feeling so she'd been back and forth from his place and her moms. Of course he was super busy working on his music. When her and G crossed paths lately, he hadn't had much to say. A lot of their conversations were getting shorter and she didn't like it.
Brieyon definitely wasn't going to kiss his ass. She felt as if, they are in a relationship TOGETHER, and she damn sure wasn't going to be the only one trying. She tried so hard not to let her outside problems interfere with her performance at work. So far, she was going good.
It was time for her to go on break, and it just so happened that Marcus walked into the store. Brieyon had to do a double take when she saw him. He'd looked even better than the night she had seen him at the club.
Her heart started beating fast and she got nervous. Instead of greeting him like she would do to any other customers, She tried to dodge him. She felt his eyes on her, So she looked at him out the corner of her eye and saw him coming her way.
"Fuck!" She mumbled under her breath. She wanted to be nice but she remembered how shit ended up last night she tried to be nice. This man was all trouble.
"What's up Bae?" He finally caught up to her. "Bae?" She questioned and he gave a small chuckle. "I ain't know you work here." He smiled. She returned the smile but didn't reply. She didn't know what to say to him. "You ok?" He glared at her and she nodded.
"Am I bothering you or something?" He gave Brie a concerned look. "No, not at all." She lied. She just wanted to go on break in peace. "Well I could be wrong, but I feel as though.. You tryin to avoid me." He chuckled again and she gave a sigh. "Look, that's not the case at all, but I did make it clear that I had a boyfriend the last time I saw you." She turned to tell him. "Had?" He raised an eyebrow.
"Have! You know what I mean." She rolled her eyes. "So, when's your break?" He asked and she looked up at the clock. "Now actually." "Oh word, you wanna go get a bite to eat?" He suggested and she gave him the eye. "I thought we just went over me having a man. Do you just not care or what?" She snapped. She was getting annoyed with him. "I do! Look, beautiful lady, I was just trying to offer you a nice meal. I never got the chance to thank you for all your help." "You're welcome!" Brieyon said, hoping that was going to end the conversation.
"It ain't gotta be a date, I respect that fact that you got a "Boyfriend."" He quoted with his fingers "But it's just a meal Ma." Brie laughed at him. He was being petty and he knew it. Marcus is quite the comedian. "Let's go man!" She grabbed her purse from the counter and headed out. He chuckled and followed behind her.
Sitting around getting to know Marcus and being treated to a meal made Brie forget she was even on a time schedule. They had talked, laughed and kicked it so hard that she was late going back to work.
"I'm so sorry Coco." She apologized to her manager. "Girl, Save it!" She gave her the hand. "You are a good one, cause I wouldn't have came back if I was on a date with a hottie like that. Whew." She fanned herself and they laughed. "It was not a date, He just bought me something to eat." Brieyon had to reassure her. She knew no matter who didn't know her, this was somehow going to get back to G. "Mhmm.." Coco hummed, walking away.
