*Naomi's POV*

They have been in there so long! I wonder what's happening... I hope he's okay. I don't know what I'd do if I lost him. My thoughts are interrupted by the door banging open. Out walks Kisame's grandmother, looking tired, frazzled, but she had a slight smile on her face which I took as a good sign. I quickly ran past her and straight to Kisame.

He was lying on the smooth, white stone table in the centre of the room. As I dashed to his side, I saw he was covered in blood. And right where his heart should be was a long gash. So that's it. The ritual is over. As I rage about how his grandma didn't even think to invite me in, the only thing that comforts me is the steady rise and fall of his chest.

In the end, I forgave his grandmother, and we got Itachi who was doing (I dunno, emo stuff.) And we headed back to the base. Everything was good. Things went back to a normal, steady pace. And Kisame and I only grew closer.

*Kisame's POV*

It's been two weeks now. Everything has been great. We have had some missions, but they were low key, nothing to write home about. I was bored, so I headed up to the rec. room, which was where I normally found Naomi. All I saw Hidan and Kakuzu bickering over the remote. I headed up to her room and knocked on the door. No answer. I opened the door. The room was empty.

Eventually I gave up looking and just headed down to the beach myself. As soon as I was in the water, I was glomped from behind. "I can't believe you'd go swimming without me!" I said as Naomi clung around my neck. "Well, I can't believe you would give up on finding me so fast!" I laugh as I pull her underwater and kiss her. It was supposed to be gentle, but she surprised me with kissing back with more fervour than she had ever shown.

When we broke apart for air we both laughed. I couldn't help it. It was kind of difficult to make out with someone underwater. As soon as we broke the surface, a few bubbles travels up and popped as they hit the air. Naomi looked at me accusingly, but then they were followed by a flurry of bubbles. Soon, the bubbles turned to swirling and a whirlpool opened.

As it seemed to pull Naomi away from me, I realized she was the only thing effected by it. Nothing else was being pulled in. This was not natural. As I fought to keep Naomi with me I realized I was fighting a losing battle. She must have realized to because she looked me straight in the eyes, he own filled with sadness and said "I love you."

And then she was gone. I stumble back to the base with only one thought in mind.

I lost her.
