Chapter 8

The press where snapping photos as I walked in with my friends. Once we all got through the doors I looked around to see people everywhere and people in suits walking around holding trays with food and drink on them. There was a stage at the front of with a stool and a guitar. There was a lot of people here some I knew all to well and it was scary. There was famous people here and people who where rich as well.

"Wow Natasha you look gorgeous" I heard Chad say. I looked to see him in a nice black tux.

"Thanks so do you" she replied smiling at him.

"Can I get you a drink?" He asked her holding out his hand.

"Yeah okay" she replied smiling and taking his hand as the two walked off.

"Guess it's just us" Jess said and I nodded. We walked around and she grabbed a champaign glass of someone carrying a tray. There was so many celebrities here at this party it was insaine.

"Ashleigh" I heard my name. I turned to see Theo standing their in a dark blue suit with a smile on his face.

"Wow I am speechless you look beyond beautiful" he complimented which made me blush.

"Thank you, you look very handsome yourself" I said and he put his hand on his chest.

"Wow a compliment" he said which made me smile.

"Yeah but your ego is already high enough" I told him.

"My ego is fine thank you" he replied which made me laugh.

"Yes whatever you say" I said. I think tonight he was going to have all the girls after him because he looked amazing. Everything he did and even his small gestures made him more sexier.

"I'll leave you two alone" Jess whispered into my ear and before I could say anything she walked off.

"Was that your friend?" He asked.

"No that was my auntie" I replied and he nodded in response.

"Oh okay" he said and I nodded.

"Can I get you a drink or anything?" He asked.

"Uh no that's okay" I replied when someone tapped on his shoulder.

"What?" He asked turned to the girl behind him.

"The singer that was meant to be coming today can't come cause she's sick" she replied looking a little scared which was weird.

"What?!" He whispered yelled sounding a little angry. He turned back to me with an apologetic look on his face.

"Excuse me for a minute" he said before he walked off with the girl talking to each other.

"Why don't you do it" I heard Tash ask from behind me. I jumped and turned to face her.

"What?" I asked her.

"Why don't you go sing?" She asked me.

"Because I don't like singing in front of people" I replied.

"But this could be your opportunity to make a career out of your talent" she said and I looked at the stage then at all the people.

"I can't, I will stuff up or no one will listen to me" I told her and he looked at me.

"Just sing like no one is watching you just look at me when your singing or look straight ahead. I don't think he is going to find someone that fast to sing for him" she said and I sighed. I closed my eyes and shook my head I can't believe I was about to agree to what she was saying.

"Fine but you better be at the front" I told her and I saw her face light up.

"Really you will do it?" She asked as a smile spread across her face.

"Yes but I don't know what I'm going to sing" I replied.

"Sing heart attack by Demi Lovato" she said smiling.

"Ugh fine I hate you and you owe me big time for this" I said making my way to the stage. I felt my heart start to pick up and my nerves kick in as the stage for closer to me. I made my way up onto the stage and looked out to see a sea of people. I was beyond scared and I was being to think my decision. I looked to see Tash standing out the front like she said and smiling at me. I turned to see the band playing music as I looked at them.

"Hi, um I'm the fill in singer" I told them as they all looked at me.

"Theo didn't tell us you where her yet?" The drummer asked.

"Yeah I just showed up now" I replied.

"So what song are we singing?" One of the guitarist asked.

"Um is it okay if we sing heart attack by Demi Lovato?" I asked. They looked at each other before nodding their heads.

"Okay whenever you ready?" The drummer asked I nodded and walked over to the mic. They stopped playing the music and all the lights turned off and the lights to the staged turned on I felt everyone looking at me as I took a deep breath. The music started and I began singing. I kept my eyes on Tash as she smiled and moved on the floor. I started to get into the music and have some fun when I began to move to the music and enjoy it. The song soon ended and the lights came back on. The whole room was clapping and I smiled as I put the mic back. I turned to the band and thanked them.

"You have an amazing voice" the drummer said.

"Thank you" I smiled.

"You where really fun to sing with we should do it again some time" the guitarist smiled.

"Thanks you too" I said before I walked off the stage. Once I hit the bottom of the stage I was crashed into a hug.

"You where amazing up there" Tash smiled pulling away from the hug.

"I still hate you" I said laughing.

"I'm going to go get a drink" I said walking of to the table filled with drinks and food. I grabbed a glass of champagne and chugged it down. I placed the empty glass down and turned around to see Theo looking at me.

"I am so sorry I didn't mean to just go up there and sing Li-" I was cut off.

"You where amazing, I didn't know you could sing like that" he said.

"Yeah I mean you needed someone to sing so I thought I wou-" I was cut of again but this time by Jess.

"You where amazing up there why didn't you tell me you had a voice like that?" She asked.

"I'm sorry I just don't like singing in front of people and that was my first time" I told her.

"You should sing more your voice is amazing" She told me.

"Thank you" I said.

"Ashleigh can I show you something?" Theo asked and I nodded.

"Yeah okay" I replied. He took my hand in his and I felt the Sparks again as he led me somewhere. The effect this guy had on me was insane. I kept walking as he still had my hand and led me to somewhere.
