You took a step and opened the door
An entrance to what you call your home
Except that it is eerier than before
And the people inside has left you alone
Alone with your bootless and fleeting thoughts
Not physically, but you were solitary by your side
It's actually funny, and kind of absurd
What long sleeves and a fake smile could hide
You prayed and asked God for someone
Someone who you could be with together
Someone who you could trust and be your companion
But it seems like the Almighty has left you no answer
Alone within four empty walls and floor and ceiling
And a window which lets the moonlight through
But then a shadow - no, a figure creeping
Saying "Hello!" and that was when you knew
You closed your eyes and tried to run
And you felt the chill go down to your core
But then you realized all your suffering will be gone
Because this is what you asked God for
You are now not alone and because this is
The night when all you have will end
The suffering goes with your blood and heart that will cease
Because the shadow - no, the figure of the night is your friend
