Chapter 1: The Beginning of the End

Mackenzie's P.O.V

The room was black..... Lights flickered on and off..... Darkness......then light....

Louis grabbed my hand and held it as he braced for the news that was about to come out of the reporters mouth. Then, before the reporter had a chance to speak, the tv went black and flickered on and off. I knew something was wrong, but no one else did. I grasped Louis hand tighter as the Emergency Alert System suddenly blasts out of the television. I ran to the remote and turned down the volume. Then, the tv flickered and the text on the screen read an unreadable message until the tv calmed down and the tv read " This is the Emergency Alert System..... This is not a test..... We have come to the conclusion that we have been invaded by a species not known to our kind.... They're vicious and will eat anything. I believe that this is no ordinary human race... I have seen these creatures and they are ........ Oh god..... They're here!!!!!... Get away from me you demons!!!!!! If anyone's out there... Save yourself and don't go outside." All of a sudden the room got quiet and no one said a word. Then, Sam started stuttering and she started having a panic attack. She finally mouthed the word Zombie in between her heavy and shaky breaths. We all stood in shock and then there was a knock at our door and, without warning, Harry whispered " They're here..."

I was paralyzed in the heat of the moment. I shook and I didn't know what to do. Louis held me in his arms and calmed me down. I tried to talk, but the words were stuck in my mouth, attempting to escape. I finally was calm enough to whisper," Who's here?"Until there was a large bang at the door and a cold Alaskan breeze flowed through the door. We all thought it was just the wind... Until.... A loud creaking noise filled the room and, as we turned our heads, saw the most mind blowing horror that has ever walked the earth.... Zombies...
