Roxane picked up Kate and took her back upstairs, but she put her in the closet so that it wouldn't freak out Mike. They decided to play the game spoons. This time Mike was actually loosing and Roxane won the first game! She was celebrating and showing out, and gloating. It was 8:30, Mikes's bed time. Roxane took him up to his room which was across the hall from hers and told him to get his pajamas on and brush his teeth.
Five minutes later Mike was fast asleep in his bed. It was calm and quiet so Roxane tip-toed into her room and grabbed "To Kill a Mocking Bird". She went downstairs plopped herself on to the leather couch and started heavily reading. She was into the book so much that she couldn't even hear the slightest noises. The noises that Roxane and Mike heard earlier, the footsteps. The bent the page in her book, laid the book on the table, and walked into the kitchen. She fixed herself up some hot chocolate and went back to reading. She was on chapter five and she was still so into the book that she didn't once look up to know that Kate was standing behind the wall looking at her. Kate was frowning unlike before. she looked angry like Roxane did something wrong and obviously she did. Roxane was getting worried that her parents were'nt home yet. She lost track of time and noticed that they were an hour late. She was worried about them so she called 911. he only problem was.... the phone line was cut. She went to go to her neighbors house, but when she tried opening the front door it was locked. She tried the back door and that door was locked to. She was frightened now and was tempted to wake up Mike to tell him what was going on.
She thought long and hard about what was happening, but nothing came to her. She didn't wake up Mike and she just sat on the couch reading. All of the sudden she heard three big bangs. She thought it was coming from upstairs, maybe Mikes room. she sprinted as fast as she could up into his room and saw that he wasn't there. He was gone. Completely! She was now scared to death and she didn't know what to do. She went into her room and saw that Kate was sitting on her bed. it was weird because she put Kate in the closet. she picked her up and pulled the little string on the back of her that used to always say " I'll be your friend", but now it said "your next".
