Chapter 1: The Deal for Freedom

"My flesh burns!" Ajax Anders screamed as he sat in tight iron chains in a pitch-black room. He is what someone would've called him the opposite of a vampire. In the fact that he was immune to sun burns, but instead he got burnt from darkness. The burns he acquired worsened the darker a room got.

Ajax was a twenty-four year old with tan skin most of the time, but right now he was pale because he was chained inside a room without sunlight. He felt sick from starvation and lack of sleep and because the darkness he was in was making him feel as if he was being burned alive. He had wavy yet always spiked up Jet black hair, and light blue-grey eyes with gold flecks in them. His height was 6, 3 making him very intimidating.

He started to focus onto filling the entire room he was in with light. That was a power he was born with.  Orangey-white light began to radiate from his palm like sunbeams radiate out of the sun. Ajax's normally light blue-green eyes imitated that same orangey-white glow. Then the room flashed with whited light for what felt like hours to Ajax although it only lasted for a couple of seconds.

The light was so hot it melted the chains that Ajax was in, freeing him. Then the burning he had felt faded away. The person who put Ajax in those chains, Hector Valehaze was going to pay for his mistake. Hector had the ability to make any thought a reality. Most people called him, The Haze. Ajax looked around, searching for a way to escape. He found there was no way of escape.

"I see you can't find your way out." An amused voice stated through speakers that appeared on the walls.

When Ajax heard that he replied with this, "You would like that wouldn't you. Let's make a deal, if you fight me and I win you let me go free, but if you fight me and I lose you get to keep me in chains."

"Deal" Hector answered as a door appeared in front of Ajax. He then walked through it with a cocky smirk on his face. "Let's begin."

Hector was about 6 feet tall, his skin was a pale, and almost white from lack of sunlight. He had one hazel and one green eye, with blonde hair that was long and untamed. He was twenty-one but looked as if he was in his late thirties because he had stubble that had grown all over his face, and dark bags that made him seem tired.

Ajax let Hector throw the first punch. When Hector threw the punch Ajax grabbed Hectors fist and maneuvered Hector into an arm-bar.  Then he broke Hectors arm and watched as Hector screamed. The bone in his fore-arm tore through his skin with a sharp edge to it. Blood was spurting out of Hector's arm making dark red splatter art on the walls of the room.

Hector was too weak after that to fight or use any of the powers he had. Therefore, making Ajax the winner.

"This is not over Ajax my Tortured Light." Hector started off, "Darkness will fill New York and you will feel as if you died in that darkness over and over again."

Ajax just walked out leaving Hector alone to bleed, in search of something to eat. Ajax wasn't heading the warning he was given with carefulness. In all honesty he didn't listen to a word Hector said.
