{Chapter Three}

(Sydney's hair)

Clary's POV

Sydney and I had spent about two and half hours at Red's. We certainly made some progress though. I think I almost saw a hint a pride in my brother's eyes. When we were done we took a shower in the gym's locker room. We both put on simple shorts and a tank top. The guys were staying a little longer so we said our goodbyes and proceeded to the door. Just as we were about to step out the door our cellphones rang at the same time. We gave each other a look and answered.

"Hello?"
"Clary?"

A smile made it's way onto my face once I recognized whose voice it was.

"Hi Xavier"
"How'd you know it was me?"
"I recognized your voice."
"That's nice." he said with a sigh

A few seconds passed with neither of us saying anything.

"So do you need something or?"
"Oh yea um uh Dominic and I were wondering if you and Sydney would go on a date with us?"
"Like a double date?"
"Yea. Like a double date."
"Hmmm interesting, I'm in. Where to?"
"You decide."
"Mmmm. Well the beach is nice around this time and I hear the next few days are gonna be in the 90s."
"The beach sounds perfect. On Saturday at around 12?"
"Saturday at 12 is perfect. See you then."
"Bye Clary"
"Bye Xavier"

I hung up and saved his contact info. Then turned around to see Sydney doing the same.

"Double date at the beach?" said Sydney
"Yup. Saturday at 12? And you said beach too?"
"Yea and of course I did."
"Alright let's go"

As I was stepping into my car Sydney stopped me asked if we could stop at the hair salon.

"Sure. But why?"
"I think it's time for a new me." she said smiling slightly

I smiled back and nodded. We drove to the hair salon which took about ten minutes. We walked in and were immediately approached. Now that's what I call customer service. The lady asked what we would like to do. I asked for a wash and blow.

"And for you miss?" the lady asked Sydney

Sydney pulled up a picture on her phone and showed the lady. The lady smiled and nodded. Then she escorted us each to a stylist. When I asked Sydney to see what she had chosen she said she wanted it to be a surprise.

Three hours later

"Syd, you look freaking amazing!"
"You think so?"
"I know so. More importantly I know Dominic's gonna love it." I said as I wiggled my eyebrows.
"I hate youuuu" Sydney said blushing
"You love meeee" I said with a big smile
"Now come on we have to get ready for our big day tomorrow."

We walked to our cars with smiles on our faces. Tomorrow is our first date with the boys.
