I walk out of class and see Ashleigh staring at me. I brush it off and walk to my locker. I feel a tap on my shoulder and turn to see Ashleigh. "Hey." I say like nothing happened just to get on her nerves. "I knew you are new and all but you can not talk to me like you did earlier." She says. "Whatever." I say turning back to my locker. "You should go talk to Brett he is the one that made you fall." I say closing my locker and facing her. She rolls her eyes and walks off. "the new girl standing up to Ashleigh. Pretty brave." I look over and see Brett and a short red headed girl. Why is he talking to me. I turn my attention to the girl. "Hi I am Jessica, but you can call me Jess." I smile. She does not look like one of the popular girls. She looks like my kinda person. Maybe this year will not be so bad. "You can hang with us if you want." I nod my head and follow her to our next class.

He cares nothing about being popular. He only cares about having trustworthy people to hang out with." Wow is all I can think. That is a little different. "That is really nice." I say. "I know there are not many people like that. I mean look at me I spend all my free time reading books. We have a group of people we hang out with that are the same, you can meet them at lunch." She says. I nod. I am not really big into talking so I hope she does not think I am rude. I am also a little shocked
