This asylum can be found in Weston, West Virginia. It's near Stonewall Jackson Lake. This asylum has appeared on Ghost Hunters and Ghost Adventures. It's mostly haunted by former patients who had passed at there stay. 94% of the people who have gone through the tours or the stays there gives it a thumbs up. Some people have actually said " We were there and right in front of us a door slammed on its own" and " We heard a young girls voice humming an old lullaby." Ghost hunters have experienced random cold spots, weird noises, being strangled, being slapped, and several strange EVPs. The EHP rating for this place is a 92.3. It was constructed between 1858 and 1881. It was reported to be the largest hand-cut stone masonry building. The hospital was built to house 250 souls. It was then opened to patients in 1864. In the 1950's the hospital with 2,400 patients, which caused over population and poor conditions. It was used for the mentally ill. It was closed in 1994. Some patients got the lobotomy ( ice pick therapy) and shock treatments. Some reasons for admission from 1864 to 1888 is laziness, egotism, disappointed love, mental excitement, and way more reasons.
