This chapter is for the fans of the romance part of this book. You'll need to read it to understand the next part, which is based on the more bloody, gory side.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I woke up, looking at as sleeping Pythe. I silently slipped out from underneath her and slid on my clothes.
"Where do you think you're going?" Pythe said, sitting up and covering her bare body with the covers. "Technically it's still curfew here, so you should just come back to bed."
"I don't care if it's curfew or the end of the world. 16 year old wants food, then 16 year old gets food." I joked.
"Fine, there's some bacon in the kitche-" She began, but when I heard bacon I was already out the door. "AT LEAST LET A GIRL FINISH!" She chuckled.
I walked into the kitchen and sure enough, Mary had three plates FILLED with bacon and toast ready.
"Oh good, lover bird number one is up." She chuckled. "Pythe still sleeping?"
"Yup." I said, sitting at the table.
"The smell of the toast and bacon should wake her up, and if not, the HOME MADE PANCAKES will." She said, smiling.
"Wait...Mary you're seven and right now you talk like a 20 year old woman..." I said. "Last night you acted like a five year old.
"Well, last night I was playing dumb to be cute." she said. "I lied about my age. I'm actually 22, but my growth was stopped when I fell out of a tree and broke my growth plates."
"Ouch...that must've hurt." I said, stuffing a piece of bacon in my mouth.
"Not really. Since my sister and I are demons, we have a healing factor ten times as fast as a humans. And since you're a rogue angel, once your wings grow in, you'll have a healing factor sevenfold of what ours is."
"Damn..." I said, munching on some toast. "So when will I get my wings?"
"Well, if you slept with Pythe, Which I know you did, You'll have black wings with crimson tipped feathers, and about a 15 foot wing span, and they should grow in about...ten minutes...so eat fast, because I don't want you ruining my kitchen." She pasued for a second before speaking again. "And no, It won't hurt at all."
Pythe walked in and sat down.
"Uhm..Pythe...you got somethign in your hair..." I said, pointing to her highlights, which had now turned deep blue. (About the color of the Save & Publish button's text on Wattpad).
"Oh, no." she said. "My hair changes colors each day depending on the mood I wake up in. They were red yesterday because I woke up with Mary yelling that I was late to meet up with you on your walk to school. My eyes change shades of blue depending on my current mood."
"So deep blue hair means...?" I asked.
"Happy and relaxed. And my eyes are the same tone, which means I'm a bit excited."
"Excited for what?" Mary asked.
"Well, one, I get to see CJ's wings. And two..." She said as Mary laid out about 20 pancakes. "PAAAANCAAAAKESSS!"
She took twelve of the pancakes, poured syrup on them, then began to devour them like she hasn't eaten in years. I chuckled, eating the last piece of my bacon and finishing off my toast. Mary sat down and ate slowly. Her plate had barely any food on it.
"You not hungry?" I asked.
"Not really..." She said.
"What!?" Pythe said, licking the remaining syrup off her lips, already having finished her pancakes. "But you're ALWAYS hungry unless you're sad..."
"It's nothing..." She said, already finishing her small amount of food.
"It's okay to tell us." she said.
"It's just..." she began. "It's...Jason, okay? I like him, but I'm too much of a puss to tell him."
"Go for it!" I said, looking her in the eye. "I was nervous about Pythe."
"But you're a guy. It's easier for you." She said.
"Well, I was nervous too." Pythe said. "And now look! I told him...sort of...Well showed him, but whatever. Point is now we're together. It's really not as hard as it seems."
"Easy for you to say." she said. "You're not the one who's 22 and only five foot! And plus, you're beautiful and I'm...this."
"What do you mean?" I asked, looking her over. "You look just like Pythe. The only difference is your heigth and brown hair."
"But still...I mean...He's just so handsome..." She said. "And what if he doesn't like me?"
"Then he's a dumbass." Pythe said.
"Really." I said. "If he says no then he says no. Big deal. He'd have to be stupid to say no.
"Fine...I'll tell him..." She said.
-------------------------------------30 mins. after Mary left the house, it happened again---------------------------
I lay in bed, Pythe had fallen asleep again, the covers hiding her nude body. I rolled onto my side, laying an arm over her. As I did, Mary ran past the room, crying.
I got out of bed, sliding on the new shirt, with holes in the back for my wings that had still not yet come in, and a pair of black jeans that everyone in the village wore.
Walking to Mary's room, I knocked on the door.
"Mary?" I said, opening the door. "What's wrong?"
"He's...he's gone." She said.
"Who?" Pythe asked, running to the door in only a lacey bra and a thong.
"J-Jason." She said, sobbing. "The goddess of light took him!"
"That BITCH!" I said, my hand curling into a fist. "It's okay Mary, I'm going to find that bitch a kill her."
"I'm coming too." Mary said, wiping her eyes.
"I will too." Pythe said.
We went into the ktichen and packed some food into a bag.
"So, where do we go?" I asked.
"We go north. To the mountains. She lives there with her soldiers." Pythe said, sliping on a pair of jeans and a black tank-top.
She passed me a scoped rifle and a short sword, grabbed her SMG and combat knife, and handed Mary her spear and M.9. We slid our close range weapons in there sheathes and holstered are fire-arms, then headed north, towards the mountains.
"We're going to find him." I said to Mary. "And NONE of us are dying. Only them. Got it?"
"Right." She said, wiping her tears away.
I patted her shoulder as we walked into the forest, ready for anything.
