Lizzy's POV

The next morning I woke up early to my alarm clock blasting Emperors New Clothes by PATD.
If you hadn't notice Panic! At the Disco is my favorite band. I'm sorta a music geek but PATD is by fair my favorite.
I groaned rolling over and slamming my clock off.
5:30 a.m.
Torture. I couldn't wait for school to be over. So I could just get out of here.
I laid their for a moment before sighing and getting up to get dressed.
I put a black Nirvana t-shirt and put a blue flannel over it. Then I put a few band bracelets on, then tied my hair into a fishtail braid.
I looked in the mirror fixing my hair and I ran my thumb over my bruised cheek and sighed.
Just then my eyes widened remembering the events that occurred yesterday.
Edward. He was real. My grandma wasn't crazy after all!
I needed to see him tonight. I had too. I don't know why but I feel like he shouldn't be alone anymore. He needed a friend.
Once I was freshened up I grabbed my backpack filling it with what I needed and left the house, Apple in hand, without waking the others.

I took my bike to school and as I pulled into the front of the school there it was. The looks. All the teenagers around my age gave me weird looks. Some disgusted. Some even laughed with their friends. I knew why and I looked down in shame at my leg.
I chained my bike to a bike rack then clung onto my backpack shyly making my way into the school.
I had to report to the main office. Lucky it was right when you walked in.
Quickly I rushed into the office before anyone else saw me closing the door behind me. Sitting at a desk, writing in a notebook, was a lady.
I stood there awkwardly for a moment before clearing my throat to get her attention.
She looked up at me with round Harry Potter like glasses and a wide smile.
"You must be Elizabeth. I'm Ms. Daisy."
I nodded shyly and I took notice that she was looking up at my face rather then my leg. Which I was grateful for.
"Well welcome to Burban high school. Now your guide should be here soon, but please sit."
Hesitantly I slowly walked over and took a sit in front of her desk. This women confused me. She never even glanced at my leg.
"So tell me. How you settling in?" She asked
I gulped and squeaked "F-fine."
She smiled warmly
"No need to be nervous dear my late husband was in the military. He lost an arm."
I looked at him and smiled
"Thank you."
"If you ever need anything at all dear your welcome to come to me i insist."

Just then the door open and in came a girl with black hair with neon blue tips. She had black lipstick, black eyeliner and a lip piercing. Her ears had many piercings as well and along with her belly button that was exposed because of her black tank top. Over it she had a leather jacket and ripped up black leggings. A black beanie over her head and combat boots. Overall she was screaming punk.
But she had the widest smile ever.
"Hey I'm Ginger Cromwell. Your the new student right? Oh hey Ms. Daisy how's the hip?"
"Doing better thank you Ginger. Elizabeth this is Ginger. She may look tough as nails but she's a real sweet heart. She'll be showing you around the school today."

________

"So Elizabeth."
"Lizzy." I corrected "Most call me Lizzy."
"Lizzy. Right. So it looks like we have matching schedules. I also see you are in future inventors class full year?"
I nodded shyly.
"Yeah I'm in that too. Ms. Daisy actually teaches it. Women is super smart with stuff like that."
I nodded once more and noticed the people around us. Some stopped to stare at me. I hated it.
Then with out warning Ginger pulled me into the girls bathroom.
"Hey what the-"
"Calm down. I just thought you might need a breather."
I looked at her for a moment before all frustration melted from my face and I sighed.
"Thank you."
She reached into her bag and pulled out a full thing of Oreos.
"We both have permission to skip classes today. Come on let's eat before inventors. Might help you."
I nodded and we sat down on the bathroom floor. I'm guessing ginger did this often because she lifted up a floor board and took out a blanket for us to sit on.
"No one usually comes to this one. There's always this out of order sign on the door I may or may not of put out there. My uncle is the janitor."
I chuckled and took the Oreo she offered to me.
"So tell me about your self."
I kinda coward again and looked down.
"Hey don't sweat it I'll go first. I moved here from Brooklyn when I was 6. My dad owns a motorcycle company and builds the best bikes ever. My mom is an accountant at some company. But I get my looks from my dad. Ok your turn. I can already guess you like good music by your shirt."
I nodded "Music and my two younger siblings are really all I have."
Then she bit her lip and asked "Um don't take this the wrong way but how did your...you know..."
I realized she was looking at my leg and sighed
"Born with it. I came really early when I was born and I wasn't fully developed."
"What about your parents?"
I froze for a second and gulped trying to figure out what to say
"Well...my mom she got very suck not long after the twins were born and passed away. And well my dad...lets just say we don't really see eye to eye. We moved here because it was cheaper and we now live in my grandmas old place."
She nodded sadly
"I'm so sorry. Hey well now you got your first friend here in Burban."
Well maybe not first. Wait were me and Edward now friends? I wasn't sure. We only met last night.
"Thanks Ginger."
