Play the youtube video thats on the right of the screen then start reading.
Shane and Joey are lying together on the couch with a blanket on them. Joey was lying behind Shane with his arms wrapped around him.
"I’m so happy we finally moved in with each other" Joey said kissing the back of Shane’s neck.
"I know." Shane turned his head and gave Joey a quick peck on the cheek.
A tear fell out of Shane’s eye’s. “Joey I love you so much. Please always remember that" Shane put his hands on top of Joey’s.
"I will, but you’ll be here everyday to remind me."
"Hmm Ya" Shane was having difficulty holding back the tears he was so happy.
He was spending these moment with the love of his life all because of a tiny dare.
Joey shut his eye’s and he drifted off. Shane could tell he had fallen asleep and slowly got up and walked to the kitchen. He grabbed paper and a pen and wrote something down and left the note on the counter, then crawled back onto the couch with Joey this time facing towards him. He didn’t try to sleep he just watched Joey as his chest moved up and down from his shallow breaths.
Joey murmured in his sleep “Sh-Shane".
Shane moved the flatten hair out of Joey’s face and slowly drifted off into his own slumber.
The next morning Joey woke before Shane did. He got up quietly because he didn’t want to disturb Shane. He looked so peaceful sleeping.
He walked into the kitchen to make them some breakfast and noticed a note that had his name one it. He started reading it.
“To the most amazing person I have ever met, Joey Graceffa.
The days I have spent with you have been the greatest days of my life. We went from friends to lovers in as little as a month. But I’ve been keeping a secret from you. About 3 months before we filmed the dare the Dawson kiss my doctor told me I had cancer. He said I would only last about 4 months but look at me, I made it a mighty 5 but I went to the hospital yesterday because I felt so weak and he said today would be my last day. I was given one extra month with you and that’s the greatest thing I could have asked for. You have made the last 2 months the most amazing time of my life and I couldn’t have spent it with anyone better. I will always love you Joey Graceffa and I wish I could stay but my time is up. Thank you.”
Joey’s eyes filled with tears instantly. He threw the note on the ground and ran over to Shane’s body on the couch.
“Shane, Shane wake up" He whimpered as he shook Shane’s now lifeless body. “I can’t do this without you Shane" he continued shaking him.
After about a minute Joey stopped. He fell down to his knees and grabbed Shane’s hand. He dropped his head on Shane’s chest. There was no movement, no comforting breathes, nothing.
Joey lay crying on Shane for another 10 minutes before standing up. He felt weak. “I can’t do this without you" Joey whispered in between the sobs.
He walked to the bathroom and noticed Shane’s cancer pain medication in the back of the cabinet for the first time. He picked it up and undid the cap. Tears were blurring his vision. He took one pill at a time until the whole bottle was empty. He looked into the mirror at his face. Broken, he was broken and lost. He was nothing without Shane.
Joey made his way back to the couch still sobbing he lay on the couch with Shane and put his arms around his waist. It was odd. There was no movement at all. It was frightening. Joey just wanted to feel Shane’s movement again. He held Shane’s hand in his. “I love you forever Shane" he whispered in Shane’s ear then moved his lips down to kiss the back of Shane’s neck one last time. He shut his eyes then drifted off to sleep as the life slowly faded from his body.
