Prologue

My name is Maisie Floyd. I live with my mother, and twin sister, Daisy. I am 15 years old and go to Everdale High. My best friends are Leanna Rice and Ryland Garcia. I've had only 1 boyfriend in my life and that turned into a disaster. I have never been outside of my state, but plan to travel after I graduate. My father has been in jail for rape and murder charges since I was 7, and a year later we moved to Everdale. I've lived a pretty normal, happy life so far and I thought nothing could be better. Until 2 complications enter my life.

Soft spoken, sweet, caring, geeky, yet totally hot Emmett Anderson moves to town and sweeps me off my feet. Literally. I am in awe of this amazing boy who just walks into my life like he was a part of it all along. And the crazy thing is that, when I'm with him, I seem to forget everything that makes my life difficult. That's a feeling that I never want to let go of.

But then there's Cameron Bentley, the schools most popular guy and not to mention that he's filthy rich. He tells me that he's liked me all this time. That I'm the one thing that he wants to himself, to latch on and never let go. That he wants me, for exactly who I am and would never change me. When he's around, it makes me feel like I'm not in this alone, that whatever I'm going through in life, he'd be there, no matter how messed up I was. And that is exactly what I want for myself.
