I watched the world crumble again,
I watched the homeless die,
I watched Hell's gate open,
So I hung my head and cried
I watched the never ending racist fight,
I watched gay rights neglected,
I watched the hope take flight,
So I sit with the objected
I watched the weak get broken,
I watched best friends at war,
I watched great words never spoken,
So I lay motionless on the floor
I watched people lose to depression,
I watched people lose to love,
I watched people lose to suicide obsession,
So I look at my spilled blood
I watched bomb explosions,
I watched physical abuse,
I watched suicidal emotions,
So I have no path to choose
I know of pain,
I know of Hell,
I know of sadness,
I know of cells
I know of fairy tales
Of course they are not true,
If they really were,
Our world would be new
I know I haven't seen all the evil in the world,
But I always know it's there,
I can tell you what I have seen though,
I'm not afraid to share
I've seen innocent people die,
I've seen happy people cry,
But I look in the mirror,
And see the last of hope.
