A Diary, Pen, Bucket-List and Locket

Prologue

     "Will you stop it!" My older sister Shannon shouts at me. Her long, perfectly curled blond hair that closely resembles my own hair, shimmers in the suns rays as she turns her head to scold me.

     "Rose, please stop annoying Shannon." My mum turns in her seat in the car to give me a stern look, though her seriousness soon dissolves as she smiles lovingly at me.

     "But mum," I wine, "it's fun teasing Shannon." My mum only smiles wider at me, revealing her pearly white teeth.

     "I know it is sweetie, but let's try and keep the peace. We'll be home soon anyway." I nod and roll my eyes at Shannon.

     "Think you two can not kill each other for another half hour?" Dad asks from the drivers seat and I smile at him in the mirror's reflection, the daddy's girl that I am.

     When both my parents aren't looking, I take one last dig at my sister. "So how's Lachlan?" I whisper, referring to her new boy toy.

     "I hope you rot in hell." She hisses back, though I know she doesn't mean it.

     "Feisty!" I wink at her, smiling brightly and innocently. "I'm going to assume that you like him, like, really like him, because of your protectiveness."

     "Rot. In. Hell." She turns so she is looking out the window, her best attempt at ignoring me.

     "You rot in hell." I fire back. "Shannon and Lachlan sitting in a tree," I whisper and see Shannon's jaw tick. "K-i-s-s-i–"

     "Rose, I can hear you," I look up and meet dad's eyes in the mirror. I smile like the innocent devil I am and he shakes his head lightly, smiling brightly at me. The love he feels towards me broadcasts through the shiny gleam in his eyes and I can't help but pull a funny face at him, making him chuckle.

     "Dad watch out!" Shannon screams and then everything... changes...

Hey lovelies! Thanks heaps for reading the prologue for my story! I'm not particularly talented at writing prologues for school work or just about anything (took me five attempts just to get this one to the stage it is) so please don't judge the rest of my story on this snippet.
