New School

                  

Hazels POV; hazel is now in the tenth grade

                  

It's been three months since we finally moved out of Delaware and into Lima Ohio. Things are a little better now that we are in a bigger and new house. I worked extra hard on decorating my room. I wanted it to be special. I wanted it to be my escape. I wanted it to be a place where I could go to forget or even celebrate good or bad times. I was hoping after the move that my relationship with my family got better but only I and my sisters got better. My parents still talk to me and kanisha like we aren't worth a thing to them and our youngest sister Claudia like she/s the queen of the world. It's ridiculous that she gets away with murder and we can't sing a wrong note without getting told how dumb and stupid we are. However my parents did agree on my sister and me going to the mall for school clothes while they took Claudia. The mall, which I got to say is way bigger than the one in Delaware was amazing. We took our time shopping for clothes this year and making sure we got the best deals. Since my mother lost her job, money has been tight

First day of school

                  

"Hazel!!!!" said my mother 5:59 am Monday morning a.k.a the first day of school. "Get your stupid ass up. I told you yesterday to set your fucking alarm!

"Mooooom, I did it hasn't gone off yet. It's not even six o' clock!" I said.

'" Did I ask for your ungrateful ass to say anything? I thought so" she said.

What a good way to start a day, I thought.  As I got dressed I mentally go over my plan for this year;

don't look for love. Just look forward and do your work because these next four years are supposed to be the best years of your life, so don't ruin it for yourself.  Stay away from anything or anyone who will cause you trouble. Make friends who will be loyal and honest to you. You need to get good grades and find a way you can sing dance or act if you want good practice because you want to be an actress. and no matter how bad it get or how lonely you feel, never stop believing because you still got you and you are the only person who can make your dream of being  a TV star come true.

"ok bye mom", I said as I headed out the door to my bus stop

"Your three minutes late asshole' she said

Artie's POV

                  

Today is the first day of school for me and I'm really nervous. It's been all summer since I talked to anyone. I took it really hard when Tina broke up with me for Mike Chang. I really was in love with her but it's like she threw it all away. I'm hoping to be able to move on.

As I make my way into school and to my locker, one of the jocks grabs my chair and knocks me out of it. Great, I think to myself, humiliated on the first day. Struggling in the middle of the floor to get back up, a new girl helps me into my chair. After she helps me in to my chair, I look at her for the first time. I could feel my heart stop. She had these beautiful almond shaped brown eyes with long curly brown hair and a golden brown skin tone. I could tell as soon as I looked her into the eyes she was deeply depressed and by her fake smile she didn't want anyone to know. I held out my hand.

"I'm artie. You must be new ", I said with the friendliest smile I could manage.

"Hazel", she said. Then, she walked away.

What a way to make a new friend on the first day of school.
