"Mom." Alice said.
"Yes baby?" I asked in a sweet voice.
"Why are you saying no mommy? Say yes."
"Sorry Alice but I just don't want to." I said looking at her in the eyes.
"Is it because of daddy?" She asked so innocently.
"Yes." I whispered knowing she heard.
"I'm here for you Alice ok. I'm here to make you, grandma and spike happy." I added.
"Mommy if you say yes then it would make me happy it would make me so happy."
"I don't know Alice."
"Harry's a great guy." Zayn said.
"Yea, he's a great cook also." Louis added.
"Plus he's very charming." Niall added as well.
"He's also very polite." Liam added.
I noticed that Harry wasn't here. He must have left.
"Fine." I gave in.
I didn't want to go on a date. I haven't been on a date in forever. I had been with Sebastian since middle school. Never did I think that he would end up cheating on me with a younger woman. Well more like a teenager. The girl was 3 years younger. We had just turned 21. He had been cheating on me for 2 years.
I had Alice when I was 21. And after that I was asked to be in the war. I told my mom that I had to go. She understood. Alice knows about her father cheating and him dieing in a car crash.
It's sad really that she hardly knew him. But I guess they needed him either up there or down there. Where ever.
"Becca." The president came in.
"Yes sir." I said standing up and facing him.
"Here is your award." He said handing me the award that was nicely framed.
"Thank you sir." I said giving him a hand shake.
"You're welcome Becca anything for one of my soldiers."
"Well me and Alice have to get going." I said looking around trying to find Alice.
"This early?" Obama asked.
"Yes sorry but I have a dog at home. And my mother is all by her self. I have to go back. Plus I had already bought my ticket to go back home."
"Ok, but you have to come back. Ill buy you tickets so you and your family can visit. And you can even stay here at the White House !" He said with a grin on his face.
"If you insist Mr. President." I said smiling back.
"Alice?" I said looking around.
"She's sleeping." I heard Harry say.
I looked at the tall figure right in front of me carrying something in his arms.
"Where is she we have to go."
"This early?" Harry asked. I could tell he was sad.
"Yes we have to go back home."
"She's right here in my arms." He said rocking her back and forth.
"She's looks so beautiful." I said looking at my beloved daughter.
"Like her mother." Harry said with a smile.
"The only thing she got from me is her love for food."
"So speaking of food, do you want to go out sometime?"
"Sure."
"Really?" He asked so happily.
Why was he happy? Why is he even asking me out?
I'm just a broken single mother who just came out of the army. I'm not even that pretty. The only thing beautiful is my daughter. She's the only beautiful thing I have laid eyes on.
"Yea."
"Great how about tomorrrow?"
"Can't I'm leaving today in the morning."
"Where are you from?"
"California."
"I'll go with you to your house. And we can go on our date later on."
"I don't know Harry you will be wasting your money."
"Money comes and goes."
"What about your friends?"
"They won't mind."
"So when's your flight?"
"At 3am."
