hello again.

Evelyn's POV

*two and a half months later*

"EEKK!!" I squealed as Niall chased me around my house. His goal is to pin me to the ground and tickle me, but that is one goal he won't achieve. I stopped for a second to catch my breath, and to let Niall catch up. He deserves at least that. Once he did catch up to me, he stopped dead in his tracks, his eyes widening to the size of dinner plates.

"Ni? What's wrong?" I asked with worry.

"Your hair..."

"What about it?"

"It's blonde."

Well, shit.

"Okay, uh, can you just wait up in the tree house for me? I'll be out in a few. I'm going to grab us some snacks, and then I'll explain it, okay?" I stumbled over my words. He nodded as I scrambled inside. I grabbed my phone and called Sorell the second the door was closed behind me.

**

M: Sorell!!

S: Yea?

M: We have a bit of a problem.

S: And what is that?

M: So, Ni was chasing me around the house trying to tickle me...

S: where exactly is this going?

M: My hair turned blonde and he noticed before I did, what do I do.

S: can you trust him with your life?

M: Yes!!

S: Okay. Tell him. I have a date with Connor later, see ya.

**

Great. I walked back outside and climbed up into the treehouse.

"Snacks?"

"Shit, I forgot them. But, here." I said, lifting up a small cubbie hole in the floor and grabbing a snack cake,

"Sweet, thanks love. So, now are you going to explain why your hair turned from black to blonde in a matter of seconds?"

"Yes. I am going to tell you my secret."

His eyes widened when the words passed my lips. He sat intently listening, and I told him everything. From the day I was born, to this very moment, sitting here next to him. He didn't seem to believe me, so I did the only thing I could think of. I lifted his gaze to my own, pressing my lips to his. He kissed back tenderly, holding my head in place by the nape of my neck, his fingers woven through my hair. I pulled away, keeping my eyes closed. Niall questioned me, he thought maybe I had begun to cry. I slowly opened my eyes and looked up at him through my lashes, revealing the change in my thick silver irises. The color I had chosen was one of complete serenity and clarity. I completely mimicked Niall's eyes. Today they are a very bright blue. A look of confusion crossed his features. Then he smiled.

"Nice eyes." He said. I laughed and he stood, pulling me up with him. "But could you make your hair black again? I love your black hair." He says, bringing our foreheads to rest against each other. I giggled lowly, the run my hands through my hair, easily ridding it of the blonde that had made itself evident with my whimsical laughter from earlier today. He smiled largely at me, then asked if we could go out to the huge clearing a ways behind my house.

"Why?" I questioned as we descended from the treehouse.

"I want to see what else you can do." He said with a massive grin. I laughed. We walked for about ten minutes before reaching the clearing.

"Okay, Ni. What do you want to see?"

"Change my outfit."

"You're such a loser." I laughed, snapping my fingers. What he was wearing was replaced with his favorite 'Free Hugs' shirt, black skinny jeans, dark brown round-toe boots, and a purple snapback. "And now you're less a loser!"

"Oh my god I lost this shirt like a week ago!!"

"Found it." I said with a wink.

We sat on the ground, making things appear and disappear until Sorell called me. She asked where I was, and after I told her, she asked if Niall and I could come back and double date with her and Connor. I protested for quite some time before finally giving in. So, NIall and I headed back to my house, where I began going through my wardrobe. Sorell didn't tell me whether or not we were going on a formal date or just casual. I decided casual would be fine. Then Niall wanted to pick what I would wear, so I let him. After maybe five minutes, had chosen some black leggings, a large red hoodie I had taken from him, and a pair of white converse high tops. I took my hair out of the high ponytail it was in and braided it over my shoulder. Then I put on some light mascara and lip gloss. Niall complimented me on my appearance, and soon Sorell was at the door.

"He...Okay wow I feel under-dressed." I laughed as I Sorell and Connor dressed up in fancy clothing. "So... Where are we going?"

"Connor invited me to a dance! His tumbling gym has one every year, so no one misses out on that experience from high school. But the dances for them are in the summer.

"I'll go, but I'm not changing."

"Wasn't going to try and make you."

"Good." Niall laughed at my seriousness of the situation, and took my hand. I gladly tangled my fingers with his and pulled the sleeve of the hoodie over my fingers on the opposite hand. I felt something on my head, looking up at Niall with confusion written on my face.

"There. Much better." He said after he placed his hat on my head, backwards. I giggled and very slightly adjusted the hat on my head. I looped my fingers though his and we ran towards the car, after sorell and Connor complained for several minutes. We hopped in, laughing.

...15 minutes later...

We walked into the gym, immediately feeling severely under-dressed. But, oh well.

Sorell's POV

I looked over at Niall and Evelyn. Niall smiled widely at Evelyn, and pulled her into the crowd. He pulled her arms up around his neck and rested his hands upon her waist as the song 'I Don't Dance' by Lee Brice came on. They swayed slowly back and forth, their foreheads pressed together. I then looked over to Connor, and he was just looking at all the gymnasts in short, tight dresses. I sighed, and I tapped him on the shoulder.

"Connor, do you even like me?"

"Of course I do, babe."

"Then why aren't you dancing with me? Why are you eye-balling these girls?" He didn't respond. He just watched as a particularly thin girl walked by. His eyes were wide, and he whistled lowly. "You're an asshole, Connor. Thanks for bringing me here." I spat, going over to a table in the very back corner of the room, sitting down. I watched Evelyn and Niall slow dance together, Ev in Niall's hoodie, and Niall wearing jeans and a t-shirt. I could feel a tear slowly roll down my cheek. Why can't I fall in love? I mean, Niall and Evelyn... You can tell how in love with each other they are. You can see the way they look at each other. With love and affection. I want something like they have. But all I get are crummy dates who think I'll put out for them. Truth is, I'm a virgin. And I intend on keeping it that way, until I find the right guy.

I want a man who loves all of me. The good and the bad, my curves, my grey eyes. Is that too much to ask for?

"Sorell? What are you doing over there all sad looking? Come dance with me!!" Evelyn said with enthusiasm. I laughed, and stood up. Approaching her, I just stood next to her and Niall as they danced to 'Firework' by Katy Perry. After that song was over, the Cha Cha Slide came on, and Evelyn spoke up.

"You are NOT gonna stand there for this one. Dance!! I know you know the moves!! And forget about Connor, just have some fun!!" I laughed quietly, before we started the dance.
