Sudden Friends Become A Couple

Harry pulled his wand from the troll's nose and wiped the boogies on it's pants. Hermione ran over and hugged him tight. Harry hugged her back. "It's alright now. You're safe." He said.

"Thank you." She whispered. "You saved my life." She said then pulled away just enough to look at him.

"It was nothing. You didn't know and I wanted to warn you. Only we were slightly late. I had to drag Ron with me and the troll was supposed to be in the dungeon."

She slightly smiled. "It's ok. I'd be dead if it weren't for you."

Harry put a strand of hair behind her ear and leaned in kissing her lips softly. She kissed back then pulled away with a smile just as the teachers walked in. "What is the meaning of this?!? What are you two doing here?!?" Professor McGonagall asked in panic to the two boys. "Explain yourselves."

"It was Hermione. She didn't know about the troll and we came to warn her. We saw the troll walk in and followed it. It was trying to kill her." Harry said.

"He's right, Professor." Hermione started. "I've been in the bathroom all afternoon crying and when I stepped out of the stall, the troll was there. It took one look at me and started going after me. If Harry and Ron hadn't come looking for me, I'd probably be dead."

"Well, I'm glad you're safe." McGonagall said then turned to the boys again. "As for you two, for your bravery, I'm awarding you each ten points. No other first years could fight a full size mountain troll and live to tell the tale. So ten points each for sheer dumb luck!" Then her and the rest of the teachers left.

Harry kissed Hermione's cheek then took her hand in his. "Will you be my girlfriend?"

Hermione turned to look at him and smiled. "It would be my honor, Sir Harry."

Harry laughed. "Just Harry is fine. But I'm glad, Mione."

"Mione?"

"It's my nickname for you."

"I like it. But only you are allowed to call me that." She replied and the three walked out and to Gryffindor Tower.
