I walk out the bathroom and, I hear my mother telling her boyfriend that they are going to be leaving in a few minutes.
She rushes to the back and wakes up the sleeping woman and tells her to hurry up and get ready to go.
Pretending that I just didn't over hear her conversation, I walk to the refrigerator to get something to drink.
The refrigerator only had one pack of Nathan's Hotdogs and, a half a stick of butter.
She hasn't been grocery shopping in awhile, since she hasn't went downtown to the Welfare Office and reapplied for Food Stamps.
Trying to avoid her but also wondering, how am I going to feed myself I tell her "There isn't anything to eat or drink in the Kitchen." She replied with "so what, and?" I quietly sat in the kitchen waiting for all of them to leave.
I looked in the cabinet and found some sugar. Since, I hate plain water and there isn't any Kool-Aid packets in here; I'm gonna make some
Old Fashioned Sugar Water.
When I sat back down, the woman adjusted her wig and put on her fiery red lipstick, pulled down her maxi dress and walked out the door with my mom and her boyfriend.
My mother didn't say when she would be back or where she's going but, hopefully it'll be soon...
