POV: UNKNOWN

'But if you close your eyes,
Does it almost feel like nothing changed at all?
And if you close your eyes,
Does it almost feel like you've been here before?'

"Huff", I let out a sigh when I finally finished packing my bag. Counter strike stares at me with a longing of getting into my suitcase but unfortunately Natalie thinks it's perversity to carry them to our honeymoon.

I flipped them inside anyway.
Well we'll see about that later.

As I make my way out of the room, I heard something fall.
Probably the wind.

I took a few steps behind to search for the reason of the sound. As I scan the room, I find my gaze fixated on a fallen book which seems to be torn at its hinges.

Moving closer, I find myself surrounded by pictures. Realisation finally dawning on me.

As I looked closer at the pictures, it all became clear.
I had taken these when I was just an amateur, hence the poor lighting.

I eyed a picture of a brunette girl with long waves cascading down her face. She was looking up at a boy with adoration evident in her big doe eyes. The latter was towering over her and sporting a lazy grin, his electric blue eyes radiating warmth of the sun.
What happened that night Natalie?
Why did you do it Shane?

Shaking my head lightly, I picked up the next picture I could get my hands on. I recognised it of new years eve.

It was of my friends and I enveloping (more like crushing) my little sister in a bear hug. We were completely smashed. Ryder was giving one of his famous glares to Andrew who was grinning sheepishly after commenting something inappropriate.

I focused at my sister, Emily's face. We had the same dull brown eyes but somehow hers always sparkled. Her blonde hair was let loose and she was giving the widest smile possible, her dimples showing through.

A stray tear made its way down my face bringing me to harsh reality.

Nothing is what it seems, right Em?

I pick up my old diary and flip it open.

An old wave of emotions hit me as I flipped through the entries.

A lump rises in my throat as a date catches my eye.

17th December

I slowly read it word by word. The overwhelming emotions coursing through my veins and I find myself whipping through the pages. Unsuccessfully.

The next few pages had some pictures intact. But the one that intrigued me the most was of the bonfire.

The picture had definitely accomplished in catching the fire in its majestic grace but it had also unknowingly captured the emotions of the people sitting around it.

There was a flicker of love, happiness, anger, regret, sadness, revenge and most of all, hope.

I sighed as I remembered the old times.

Yes, it's true that one thing leads to another. What started out as a petty heartbreak turned into a huge snowball effect.
