"Again! I can't believe I'm crying over him again! Why do I never learn, why do I always believe his bullshit!"

I was pacing around my room. Tugging at my hair out of pure frustration.

"Then don't go back to him. You know that if you meet him He's just going to beg his way back to you" Kolton, my best friend replied.

He was usually such a childish and happy person but after the repetitive situation and his best friend being hurt it was hard even for him to stay positive and find something to laugh at about it. He lounging on my bed flipping through my sport magazines, 'admiring' the female athletes featured.

"But I can't just not show up" I slumped against a wall.

Kolton rolled onto his back, still flipping through the magazine. "that's exactly what you do. Don't go. If it's not him just another jackass like him will break your heart. Stay away from boys for a while. Woah, hey, she's got a nice rack."

"I'm not good with that whole being alone thing." I gazed at the promise ring on my finger. The one my boyfriend had gotten me to show how serious he was about us. What bullshit. "and that's disgusting, stop being a perv."

"he's an asshole. You're an amazing catch, much better than the slut that went after him. And I'm just admiring today's athletes. You said yourself the girls don't get enough recognition."

"Not that kind recognition you shit. But that's right, she initiated it. Maybe I'm over reacting."

This got his attention. He discarded the magazine and sat up, pointing a finger at me.

"No. Don't you dare. Do not start forgiving him. He's complete trash. No one should ever cheat. Tell him now that you're not going"

"Fine." I sent him a text saying that I wasn't meeting him and instantly got a reply saying he was on his way there, "Uh, Ko? I think I really should see him. He was probably drunk as well."

"I saw him. He was stone-cold sober. It wasn't an accident."

"Well, he's on his way here so we'll just see"

"No. Tell him to get fucked. The last time you guys didn't meet in a public place he hit you."

"That was an accident. His anger got the best of him and he apologised straight away and got ice and held it to my face. He was even almost crying"

Kolton leant forward and rested his chin in his hands with his elbows on his knees.

"I already want to punch him in the face but I don't seem to be able to change your mind. If he breaks your heart or hurts you again I'll kill him"

"yeah. I'm sorry for making you put up with this. It must upset you as much as it does me. Honestly, Ko, sometimes I just wish I could get away from this town."

"Why don't we just run away?"

"Sure totally" I rolled my eyes at his joke.

"I'm not joking" When I looked over to him his golden eyes were serious.

"We can't. We only finished high school a month ago, we have no money."

"We'll manage. Do you trust me?"

"of course..." with that he jumped up, suddenly in his extremely cheerful mood. He started walking to my closet and got a bag out. "I'm just not sure about this. We're not the most responsible people, Ko."

"We'll bring Kason along. So let's run away." He said as he started stuffing things into the bag. He mumbled a wait here and left through my window to go to his house.

I sat on my bed with my head in my hands. He can't be serious. We're not actually going, right? We can't do this!

Not even 5 minutes later he was back with his own bag and when he saw I hadn't gone through what he packed he went through it to make sure to get all the essentials and packed a couple more things before zipping it up.

"You ready?"

"We're not going Ko, he'll be here soon. Let's just hear him out, 'kay?"

He shook his head animatedly with the biggest grin on his face.

"Nope! No way am I letting you back out of this, you said you wanted to. It'll be fun, an adventure!" he then let out a boisterous laugh.

"It's dark, we should at least wait until morning!"

"hey, hey, hey! I have great eyesight at night, like an owl! In the dark, if you're with me, you've got nothing to fear!"

"He'll probably follow us"

"I don't think so, but if he does he won't catch us while it's dark especially not with my ninja skills!"

At this stage he was basically pulling me out of the door. He stopped though and made a little 'o' with his mouth before grabbing my hand and pulling the promise ring off.

Kolton moved to my desk, scribbled a note and left the ring there and continued to push me out to his car.

"We could roll like thunder! How cool does that sound?!"

"What does that even mean?"

"We'll burn like the stars!"

"Which, just like that first suggestion, would produce a light that would make your 'ninja skills' irrelevant. These don't even make any sense Kolton."

"Detail, details! Just get in, we still need to pick up Kason"

"How do I always end up as a part of one of your crazy schemes?"

"What do you mean crazy?"

I just let out an exasperated sigh in response. We continued the drive to Kason house where Kolton pulled to a stop and called him.

"Kason! Yeah, I know. Yeah, sorry. Look, I'm out the front of your place, pack a bag and come out as soon as possible. Sweet, see ya soon"

Kolton hung up and gave me a double thumbs up with a giant grin still plastered on his face. Not long after Kason came out and Kolton jogged up to him.

"Hey, hey, hey! Kason, we're going on an adventure! Get in the car!"

Kason sighed and got in the back seat, greeting me quickly before bombarding Kolton with question about this adventure. Once everything was explained Kason sighed again.

"This doesn't sound like a good idea. Why am I here?"

"Ko wouldn't let this up and we're both not very responsible or independent. I'm sorry for dragging you into this but once Ko gets an idea in his head, it's hard to stop."

"That's true. I'm sorry your boyfriend's such a dick"

"Ex!" Kolton yelled from the drivers' seat. "and now they will have to find another heart to break!" he let out another laugh causing me to smile at my best friend and Kason to sigh once again.

"We'll find our way. Maybe we'll go to where the ocean meets the sand!"

"You could just say we could go to the beach..." Kason replies, causing Kolton to laugh again.

"My way sounds cooler! But we'll go far from home, look it's raining!"

"It's like the worlds crying about us leaving, aw" I said, putting a hand on the cold glass of the window.

"I guess there's tears in our rear-view mirror then!" Kolton laughed again while Kason and I just rolled our eyes.

I just pulled my hand away and exhaled on the glass, causing it to fog up, and drew a smiley face.

I feel like this isn't very good. idk maybe I'm just tired. I'm meant to be writing the new Hold Me Down chapter but I just wasn't feeling it. But I do have good news, I got a new laptop so now I should be able to write where ever so as long as I stop being a lazy shit I should be able to update more often yay
