Mackenzie-------

"Jacob!" I called cheerfully as I carefully flipped the eggs on the stove.

"Happy Birthday, dear!" he grinned, stepping into the house and pecking me on the cheek.

"Breakfast!" I replied, my eyes still carefully watching the eggs.

"Wow!" he exclaimed, "You sure you didn't burn them?"

I blushed, and muttered, "It was just one time!"

We sat down in front of the couch and started to flip channels on the TV before he snapped his fingers.

"Oh, yeah! Today's the day Paper Stars is released!" he exclaimed. I laughed and yanked the remote from him and turned the TV off.

"Let's go to the Theaters, then!" I giggled, "Hurry, Couch Potato!"

Eventually, I got him to take a shower and change, before I did the same. An hour later, we were finally ready to go. Jacob started the ignition and we drove to the Cinema.

I bought some popcorn and a Diet Coke, while Jacob bought tickets. Of course, Jacob had to buy front row seats. His excuse always was, "What? We have to appreciate my handsomeness!"

We got into our seats right as the movie started. I sat captivated, staring at the screen the entire time. Jacob sat next to me, occasionally leaning over and telling me things that happened while filming the scene.

After the actual movie ended, I started to get out of my seat, but Jacob pulled me down.

"Wait," he muttered, "Author's interview,"

I nodded, and sat back down. While I waited for it to load, I mentally reminded myself to go find this book on Amazon.

The screen lit back to life, and I gasped. I leaned over to Jacob, and whispered, "You never told me the book was written by Debbie!"

He looked surprised, "You know her?"

My mouth fell open. "You don't remember?" When he shook his head, I continued, "You know, the genius, PE hating girl from 4th grade?"

When his brows furrowed, I shook my head. "You're hopeless." I muttered.

After the interview and Special Offers ended, Jacob pulled me to Central Park, fidgeting all the way.

He brought me to the bench where he had bumped into me all those years ago. But today, the bench was lit up and there was a cake on it. I grinned, and we dug into the cake.

After swallowing a gulp of cake, he asked casually. "Hey, Kenzie?"

"Hmmm?"

"Hey, you wanna get married?"

I stared at him, "Was that a proposal?"

"Uhh, let me think. Yeah, I think it was,"

I laughed, "Well, it wasn't very romantic, but sure!"

He kissed me, and as I kissed him back, I thought,

"Now this is Happily Ever After."
