Percy Jackson: The Forgotten Hero
Chapter 1
"Perseus Jackson," A voice whispered. Percy rolled over and squinted into the darkness of the Poseidon cabin. Tyson was away, and as far as he knew no other Poseidon kids existed. He brushed it off and rolled back over. "Percy, everything is about to change." The voice whispered again. Percy sprang out of bed unleashing his sword Riptide. "Who are you?" Percy asked into the darkness. "It doesn't matter my hero, you must be ready. Your camp will be left attacked and left vulnerable." "What, how do you know?" Percy asked. There was no response. A whistling sound pierced Percy's ears. It sounded faint at first put it grew louder and louder. It sounded like it was coming straight for him. Then there was a loud popping noise and the roof exploded throwing Percy across the cabin. He smacked the wall and dropped into the fountain his father had given him. He looked around the cabin. The entire roof had collapse in and the cabin was burning. Percy jumped up and scrambled for the door. He had to jump over chunks of the roof and burning beams. He burst through the door just as the cabin collapsed. Percy scanned the cabins. Almost everyone had been attacked and caught on fire. The Ares cabin had burned to the ground and so had the Apollo cabin. The rest were very close. A roar erupted from the Big House. Percy spun and watched as Laistrygonian giants came over the hill. They were holding their flaming metal balls. That's what had hit the cabins. Percy saw that the fleece Percy noticed at the foot of the hill was a large group of campers. The campers had formed a defensive army. He watched as a small group broke off and started up the hill towards the giants. That's when things went wrong. A whole army of monsters flooded over the hill down towards the campers. They never stood a chance. They were overwhelmed instantly. Percy hoped that Annabeth hadn't been in that group. Percy took off sprinting towards the remaining campers at the bottom of the hill. On the way he started passing bodies of campers on the ground, and many were his friends. He passed Jake Mason from the Hephaestus cabin, Nyssa, also from the Hephaestus cabin; he also passed Pollux, son of Mr. D. Percy pushed them out of his mind and kept going. He reached the small army of demigods. Annabeth and Clarisse were in the front trying to organize everyone. Percy pushed through the crowd. "Wise Girl what's going on?" He asked. "Percy, I have no idea, but they took the fleece and shattered the magical barrier. We need to get the fleece back so we-" Annabeth was cut off by a loud groan from up the hill. Percy and Annabeth both whipped around and watched as giant threw a metal ball at Thalia's pine. It stuck the tree and went through the other side. The tree tipped sideways and fell down the hill towards the road. The campers all stared in horror. Their last protection had just failed. Percy looked at all the camper's faces. They were scared senseless, but they weren't running. "Ok, listen up!" Percy yelled. "This is a useless fight, if you want to run, go and hide, and when this battle is over, come back and try to set camp back up. Now go if you want too." To Percy's surprise a large amount of the already small group abandoned them and ran in different directions. Percy looked over his small army. He noticed the Stoll Brothers, Piper, Leo, the entire Ares cabin, Will Solace and the Apollo cabin, and the Demeter cabin. In all there were maybe thirty of them, against an uncountable army. Percy turned back towards the hill. Annabeth and Clarisse flanked him on both sides. The army of monsters seemed to falter when they saw the small group of demigods, and then they came down the hill. Percy nodded his head and started running up the hill. He was aware of his friends following him. Percy screamed and collided into the army of monsters.
