Almost Perfect

Liam's POV

There they were. The three prettiest girls that I've seen in a long time. I probably looked super creepy watching them. I tried to look away often but something about them intrigued me. There was a brunette, with lots of jewelry on. She was short and had her bangs pinned back. Also there was a pale skinned girl with a ginger colored hair, she wore a flower in her hair and had braces. The one that I was very attracted to was a blonde, with blue eyes and light skin. She was pretty tall and each of the girls were dressed in all black, fitted clothes. Probably going to the symphony. I was on the some steps near the Symphony Hall in downtown Seattle. Ryan and my other friends were skate boarding and I sat watching the girls that had just caught my eye.

"I dare you to go talk to them Liam." said Ryan from behind me. I nod quickly and sprint off in the blondes direction. As I come close I halt to a stop and raise my hand.

"High five!" I use my best American accent to cover up my British one. If I talked with my normal dialect it would pose the question 'why am I here in Seattle?' and I didn't need her knowing I was here on a band trip all the way from Wolverhampton. I guess playing the trumpet isn't such a hit with the ladies. The girl fumbles with the water bottle in her hand before she slaps her hand to mine. Her other two friends are now laughing beside her as her face turns bright red but her smile is huge.

"102, 376..." I start to recite as I take a seat on the step again. Looks of confusion cross her face.

"Um, what were you telling me?" She approaches me. I can tell she's uncomfortable as she crosses her arms over her chest.

"Oh just my phone number is all." I almost forget my fake accent as I reply. She just says 'oh' and turns back to her friends, and that was that, she left. Her image remained in my mind while my friends joined me. I wish I could've talked to her more, but what would happen when she doing out that I was from another country? Things would definitely not work out. Despite all that, I still wished I could keep in touch with her, but I new I would never see her again.

Hannah's POV

There were these boys skate boarding along the steps that we were sitting by. The three of us, Karly, Alisha and I, all stared at each of them intently as we analyzed their looks. One of the hotter ones kept looking in my direction. I would quickly look away, and each time I did so I could feel my face burn up. Moments later I decided to buy a water from the sandwich shop just beside the table we were seated at. As I returned, Karly's laughter was loud.

"I think I missed something." I say as I sit at the table again.

"Yeah, that cute one was staring at your butt the whole time!" Karly squealed. The thoughts in my brain raced around. Why would anyone look at my butt? Especially today! I was wearing somewhat tight black pants that didn't fit very well, and a black tank top with a black cardigan. Not the perfect time to be in my band uniform. Yes, I was a band nerd, coming to Seattle from my home in Canada, only for a band trip. It would only make this situation worse if he found out. Each thought made my pale-skinned face turn a different shade of red.

We all found ourselves standing, after a few minutes, facing the mystery boys. One of them, -the very cute one- came running up to me at full speed with his hand up. Not knowing any better I assumed he was going to slap me. I closed my eyes to brace myself but I could feel him looking at me. He had stopped merely inches away from me and was asking for a high-five. Slowly I put the cap on my water bottle and hit his hand with mine. I started to walk away but he was shouting numbers at me. Out of curiosity I asked him what he was saying.

"Oh just my phone number is all." he says. I nod ever so slightly and walk away awkwardly. Alisha and Karly playfully bumped me with their elbows as my band teacher called the group over. With one last glimpse over my shoulder I saw the boy and his friends skateboarding away. In the back of my mind was a seed of guilt, knowing I should've taken down his number.
