You would think that parents would be a little more delicate with this particular issue. You would think, not my parents though.
"Rinzie! Come here now!" My dad yelled down to the basement, where I made my residence. I got off my bed and left my music on, figuring I'd be back in a few minuets. I walked up the stairs, where my parents were standing.
"Yes, Dad?" I asked him.
"We're putting the house up for sale." My mom blurted. I heard a deafening crack in the universe and then the world was spinning. I had to sit down.
"Moving?!" I squealed.
"We think it's a good idea. Besides, we're moving to Arizona, with your grandparents." My mom said. I looked at her like she spoke spanish (Ironic, yes).
"We can't! I have friends here and a life and I've lived here my whole life!" I yelled at them. Why were they doing this? Tears stung my eyes and started rolling.
"You need a fresh start honey. A new place is perfect." my mom said. I groaned and went to my room. I turned on Don't Take the Girl by Tim McGraw. I cried for two hours striaght.
Going to school the next day was awful. I couldn't tell anyone and that was harder than hell. I wanted to scream and yell and cry. I went to my friends in the morning. My true friends, Hunter and Sophie. I've known Hunter since the fifth grade, and Sophie since the sixth grade. They were currently dating and they were adorable. Before you ask, yes I had a crush on Hunter. But it was that crush you have on your best friend because they treat you the best. Ah, that was him. Perfect, and so sweet. He did have a nasty temper but that was easily overlooked. Hunter was a country boy; with dark brown hair and very light brown eyes, the shade of a warm honey, he had a dark complextion. Sophie was the opposite. She was more of a materialistic type of girl. She had blonde hair and blue eyes, with a very light complextion. So different, but an almost matching puzzle piece. I went to them and started crying before I could even explain.
"Rinzie, what's wrong?" Hunter asked. I looked at him with tear filled eyes spilling over, drenching my face. He pulled me into his arms and i started to soak his shirt with my tears.
"I...I'm...M...mo...ving." I sobbed. Sophie hugged me with Hunter. I was falling apart, piece by piece.
"When are you leaving?" Sophie asked. I sniffed and took a trembling breath.
"Today is my last day here, we're moving in two days." I told them. They just shook their heads.
The next two days went by fast. I packed and packed, loaded the moving truck, and slept. The next day we pulled out. As my dad pulls out of my Indiana driveway, I watch the trees turn to cacti. I realize, I have lost everything.
