Summer

The sun has set

Our only light

Is emitted from the fire

The crickets strike up a song

We couldn't dream of playing a long

Your arms around my waist,

The sweltering day cools

I shiver and lock with your gaze

Your eyes shine with filling love

Your arms tight and protective

My heart stops, then begins a sprint

My breath has disappeared

Your lips hover over mine

Bathing my face in your breath

The lightening bugs flashing

Time must have stopped

Your lips crush against mine

Pulling me closer to you

My fingers grasping your shirt

My knees beginning to buckle

My eyes fly open, filled with tears

My knees give out pulling us down

You laugh and brush my hair back

'I love you' leaves your lips

Never leave me, my love, my dear
