As the week passed at her new school during which Juniper thought a lot about the social attitudes of the new time she was in. And for some strange reason, she'd started to write again. That in itself wasn't shocking--but the fact that she was moving slightly passed the complex her father had created... well, that was extraordinary!
At the moment, she was stuck in an Math class she really didn't want to be in. With the way Mathamatics had advanced over the past ten or so years, Juniper could go up to the front of the classroom and teach the fat, balding old teacher a thing or two...
She wrote a poem about her father, their conflicting relationship, the way it made her feel.
You make me feel like crumpled paper
thrown in a corner, left behind
I sit their racking my mind
I'm dying inside
Because of everyone I know
You should love me forever
and never let me go
You call yourself a father
I call you a knife
you call yourself a doctor
I call you a plague of strife
What little girl, doesn't want some love
from a gentle daddy
throughout their life
Ignore me, whatever
I know you hold the key
to the knife, my whole life
has been used to torture me
shove in the dagger, twist it round
but my heart left undamaged
your damage so profound
The bell rang for the end of class as she worte, deep in thought and hurried out of the classroom. It was last class so Juniper hurried to the parking lot to find Nic and his car. She really hadn't seen him all week, taking the bus to get to their, uhh his house or catching a ride with an older female teacher that lived on his street.
Juniper did know now, more than before... that being a doctor, that profession. It would never be for her. She felt her Plasto device vibrate in her pocket; condensed down to a minimal size; the device at a quick glance looked just like the modern cell-phones.
Answering the device, she saw that Nic must have been calling her from his bag-phone in the car. Juniper walked out of the hallway into a nearby bathroom and shut the door. Hunched inside one of the stalls she finally answered her phone. “Hi?” she muttered knowing already who was calling.
“So, I was wondering if you wanted to meet up with your support group again?” Nic asked as soon as he realised he had the right number. “Just Lucillia and Boderick though, not the other two.
Letting out a sigh of relief Juniper smiled to herself at the thought of getting to talk to fellow futurists.
Still on her phone, Nic whined once again... "Please... Juni?"
Juniper groaned, and gave up the fight; not that any decision really needed to be made. Grabbing her backpack of the back of the toilet and opening the door she finished her phone call. "Fine." she growled
Slamming her Plasto shut she hurried out the door, hoping against hope that he wouldn't be there.
And then, she saw him! Not Nic, not a person she knew and loved. It was ???

i WAS SO BUSY WITH SCHOOL AND SUCH THAT I DIDN'T HAVE TIME TO WRITE... HERE'S THE REST OF THE CHAPTER....
It was....

She stared at him. Not knowing what to do. She stared and stared and stared.... It was a guy, very distinguished looking--even now when he was young. He was looking the other way, talking to a group of teachers who at their youngest had to be 6 years older then him. They were talking animatedly about something, although thankfully his visitor badge showed he didn't go to school at the college.
"Yes, Mr. Leigh. Despite your lack of genetic testing we believe your theory could be correct. In fact we're already arranging for one of our own, a scientist working on her masters. Ms. Naive Thario. She's studied the special type of biology you've based your studies on. We're sure she'll be able to.."
Juniper closed the door of the bathroom back on herself. She couldn't believe it! There was her father, close to her age talking about a strange science experiment---what had it been about? She was so confused.
Juniper felt her Plasto vibrate in her pocket. She carefully made her way to another bathroom stall and perched herself on the toilet, her feet dangling over the edge as she sat on the water tank. She opened the Plasto back to its original size and looked at the display. It was Nic again, she thought positively, then her mood turned glum... she couldn't get out of this bathroom until her father left. If he saw her... the repercussions could be horrible for her.
Clawe, short for Clawton Leigh was notorious in this time as an 18 year old. Knowing this his powers of influence in her own time were ten times as strong. If he saw her, just that memory, one memory would allow him to track her down and try to convince her to come back.
Shaking her head in shame, Juniper knew that if her father found her; she would be going back. The will power to stand up to him just wasn't there anymore... Suddenly, he eyes moved past the screen of her Plasto up to the nearest window which bright light was streaming through. It just might be big enough...
Granted, the window was grungy and covered in grime and, well she didn't want to know what. It was the best lane of escape for her and the current time. Juniper clasped her backpack tightly to her body and settled it in place. As she inched forward on the toilet seat by her tiptoes she noticed she was shaking. But only in an absent way, as she was so focused on the task at hand.
Gently prying the screen from the window and placing it outside Juniper placed her forearms on either end of the frame, bracing herself. Mentally counting to three while taking deep breaths she prepared to spring forwards. One [puff], Two [puff], Three and, she jumped.
She managed to get out up to her bellybutton will the rest of her body dangling into the not so thin air of the bathroom. Grabbing onto the thick, manicured grass in front of her Juniper slowly began to pull herself up.
After five, agonizing minutes she succeeded and replaced the screen on the window. Only then did she realize she was crying silently, big rolling drops of moisture bouncing off her cheeks. She crawled over to the wall on the other side of the window and huddled there, once again feeling the isolation this time brought to her... But she'd grown up a fighter, and she wouldn't be beaten so easily. So after ten minutes she manged to pull herself together and walked towards the parking lot where Nic waited.
