"sometimes the bad things that happen in our lives put us directly on the path to the best things that will ever happen to us"

Swinging the door open I came face-to-face with a small room. On the far right was a door and on the left was a big window. There was a long table between two beds with two desks at the end.

I plopped my duffle bag onto the bed by the window and started to unpack. I didn't pack a lot because I live an hour away in Charlotte. I could always go home if I needed anything.

When I was done I slid the bag under the bed and got out the pamphlet I got at registration. The words "Welcome to The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill" we're at the top in a pretty font. Opening it, I went straight to the outdoor facilities. The weather was nice and warm and I didn't want to waste another minute of it.

After seeing "Kessing Outdoor Pool" as one of the options for outside activities, I ran quickly to my closet and got out my favorite two piece suit and a hair tie for later. I went and put on some flip flops and grabbed a towel. Getting my phone off the bed and my keys, I left the dorm.

After a 10 minute walk, I finally got to the pool. It was shaped like an L and had a fair amount of lanes. It wasn't crowded and I found a spot quickly.

Not wanting to stay in the heat, I put my stuff down and made my way to the deep end. I was passing a group of boys, I suppose that were on the swimming team. Trying to ignore them as much as I could, I walked up to the ledge.

I bent over to put my hair up with the hair tie. After tightening it, I counted to three and jumped in.

The water was cold and it felt amazing running along my body. Getting up for air, I heard other splashing coming over from the other side.

The boys from earlier were swimming laps around the pool.

Seeing that they're was nothing else to do but swim, I did just that. Reaching the end of one side, I started my way back to the other side.

One of the main reasons I chose this school was because of my brother, Garrett. He always talked about it when I was in high school, and with it being so close to home and my grades being well, I got in.

Other than my brother I lived with both my parents, June and William. My mother was an interior designer and my father a journalist.

Coming up for air, I was interrupted by a cough. I looked up and was met with a boy in a pair of yellow swim shorts. He had a black backpack on and he was standing on the ledge with his arms crossed. His skin was tan, and covered in black ink. His hair was brown and in little wet ringlets across his forehead, peeking out from underneath his Green Bay snapback. He looked me up and down before placing his fingers on his bottom lip, pinching them.

I raised an eyebrow at him, waiting for him to say something.

"What are you doing in here? This is a closed practice for the men's swim team."

The way he spoke was interesting, his lips barely moving. His eyes were trained on me, never looking anywhere but my eyes. Also he had a British accent?

"Closed practice? This is registration week, all of the facilities are open," he looked taken back that I talked back.

"They were all open, but we had to reschedule a meet to this weekend and we needed this practice. So if you could show your way out, we have some training to do. Unless you need help finding your dorm?" He said rather smoothly and a smirk appeared shortly after.

This boy was undeniably attractive but slowly getting on my nerves. Nowhere did it say anything about a closed practice and now he's talking about getting with me?

Trying to take as much time as possible, I pulled my hair tie out and let my long blonde hair fall. I titled my head back to wet all my hair before pushing forward to look at the boy ahead of me.

I swam over to the ladder. I slowly climbed up onto the ledge. Walking over to the him, water dripping off of me.

"I have no idea who you are and you don't get to tell me where I can and cannot be."

I started walking closer to him. He was staring at me, curiously waiting for me to take my next move.

Placing one hand on his shoulder, I leaned up and whispered in his ear, "Maybe another time," my lips barely touching his skin.

After I stepped back, shock was written all over his face. I turned away from him, got my stuff and left.
